Trenton Newman will be the lone Senior on the Friday night ceremony for Boys Track 👣 and Field, and Amelia Dalton also has the stage to herself on the Girls side.

This will make for a rather short ceremony for the duo, so why not create an entire day for them ! The fact that the only Cavaliers in action 🎬 today are the ones who compete for Shawn Montgomery and Jon Delp makes it even easier to do !

The duo have spent the back half of their senior year competing for the same coaches as they both wrestled in the winter for West Long.

Trenton recently signed to Wrestle at Lynchburg, while Amelia is still studying her options on where she will continue to pursue her education and wrestling.

Carroll County High School Softball team made the trip up to Radford on Tuesday night and bagged the Bobcats 7-3 to earn another Three Rivers District victory!

Addie Greene led the way on a night when her granny 👵 was nursing an injury back on The Hill. The story is reminiscent of when Babe Ruth hit a home run for the boy in the Hospital 🏥 back in the day.

Greene went the distance inside the circle 🔵, gaining praise from veteran Head Coach Rick Nester.

” Addie pitched incredibly well tonight for us,” said Nester. ” She threw a complete game and excelled at keeping Radford off stride with her change up. “

Greene helped her own cause with a two run triple in the top of the sixth inning as the Cavaliers were shopping for insurance. The three run frame proved to come in handy after Radford plated two runs in the bottom of the sixth.

While Greene was the only Lady Cavalier to enter the circle, she wasn’t the only player to receive praise from the Skipper.

” Bayleigh Allen made a huge play on a hard hit ball that saved us at least one run, and Holly Miller was making Holly Miller type plays all night,” added Nester. ” Our team executed 100% of our bunt attempts. We even beat a couple of them out for base hits.”

Brooke Webb continues to finish out her playing days in a strong manner. The soon to graduate 🎓 Webb collected a single, one ground rule double and even added one of the bunts Nester was smiling about.

Greene finished up with three hits, and Natalie Burress, Webb and Madison Coleman eached tallied two base knocks. Raylee Goins and Laynie-Jo Leonard rounded out the hit parade with one each.

The Lady Cavaliers finished 3 of 3 in stolen bases, giving the team some much needed MOJO heading down the home stretch. The team returns to Cavalier Park on Thursday night to host Chilhowie and Friday for the rematch with Radford.
