  Carroll County guarantees themselves a minimum of a .500 regular season last night by claiming victory #5 as the outscored Floyd County 52-49 !

While the school calender is officially blank there are three events taking place involving Carroll County.

Dakota Walls will look to improve on his 4th place finish last weekend when the Sophomore returns to Caraway Speedway under the bright lights.

Back on The Hill, Cindy Edwards and Kayla Nester are set to team up with Stacy Whitaker for their annual Bingo Night 🌙.

Over in Ferrum, Kalee Bunn and the Lady Panthers return to the Volleyball court once again at High Noon. The clock ⏰ is winding down for Bunn as just three home matches remain after today.

Our day begins in Durham as Duke plays game 7 of 12 against the Yellow Jackets. Two of the four undefeated ACC teams after Miami fell at home 🏡 last night.

Floyd County answered back but Dane Leonard recovered the on-side kick to seal victory #5 for Head Coach Seth Greer and Company !!

Carroll County High School 🏫 – Ferrum College pipeline is in need of its next Student Athlete as Kalee Bunn is closing in on Graduation 🎓…

Kayla Goins, Emily Cook, Cheyenne Strickland, Tiffanie Moore and Kalee Bunn are some of the Lady Cavaliers that traded in The Hill for Ferrum Mountain ⛰ over the past decade. Miss Bunn is carrying a 4.3 GPA and her degrees will be a major in Elementary education and a minor in Special Education.

Dad 👨 is quick to give the credit to Mrs. Bunn for the academic success of their daughter and Carroll County High School Head Coach Cindy Edwards was REAL quick to agree.

Ferrum Panthers

Tonight is the first of the five final matches in the Panther program and the opponent is Southern Wesleyan from South Carolina.

The Warriors took the first set fairly quickly tonight but the Panthers are battling now in the second set.

Some of the Bunn Fan Club tonight..

Senior Day is on the Horizon ( November 1st) and four days later the team will play at 🏡 for the final time.

David Broyles is doing his very Best to keep The Carroll News afloat as the home office 🏢 down in Mount Airy search for a replacement for the recently departed Allen Worrell.

David was set to retire from the Newspaper 📰 at the first of October. We even honored that fact back on September 13th at Cavalier Park. We are doing our very Best to help him with his Sports section until someone new takes over as the person in charge.

Can you imagine going from working for a few more days as a writer to trying hard to create a Newspaper 📰 ????

Carroll County High School graduate 🎓 Kalee Bunn is closing in on adding Ferrum College graduate 🎓 to her list of accomplishments ! Ferrum is now down to just five home matches and Friday night at 6pm is our best opportunity to show support for a former Lady Cavalier.

Saturday Night Racing 🏎

The next stop ✋ will allow us to catch up one more time with Carroll County High School Sophomore, Dakota Walls. Dakota is coming off a 4th place finish last week at the same track.

Sunday afternoon will be spent at Hillsville Elementary School assisting Coach Vickey Ritchie with her Special Olympics Basketball 🏀 practice.

Should be fun, as none of these stories are Newspaper 📰 type stories but each of them are important to people that are important to us.
