Using a rather lopsided baseball ⚾️ game in Asheville, North Carolina, as a backdrop, it’s time to discuss the definition of clutch and how it applies to Peyton Spencer !

The other night in Abingdon, Head Coach Casey Burcham did everything he could to protect the right arm of his staff Ace, Peyton Spencer. Spencer had just faced the Warriors of Magna Vista days before, and a baseball pitcher is significantly different from a softball pitcher in regards to arm use.

His teammates like to call him D1, and when Burcham signaled to Spencer to take over from short stop, our Cavaliers were on the edge of the cliff. The homestanding Falcons already led the game 4-0, and the bases were loaded with nobody out.

With our season certainly on the brink, D1 went to work and produced five minutes of remarkable baseball ⚾️. Strikeout, strikeout ( needed 4 strikes), and strikeout to end the threat with the score still 4-0.

Conner Reece lifted a 2-run bomb πŸ’£ to cut the deficit in half, and once again, our Cavaliers had energy in the dugout. The Cavs would end up falling 4-2, which leads to the question about where the gunslingers moment should be placed on the Mt Rushmore of Cavalier sports ?

If Carroll County had completed the rally and punched πŸ‘Š their ticket 🎟 to the State Tournament that night, the five minutes would rank up there with Tiffany Moore and the catch or the end of the Girls first Basketball πŸ€ State Championship. I am not sure what an athlete can do to be considered more clutch than our Junior righty.

Win that game, and the lore lasts 50 years with the size of the crowd growing every time the story gets told !

Mr Spencer, a giant tip of the cap to you, Sir !

Meanwhile, here in Asheville, the Greensboro Grasshoppers are spoiling the night for a sold-out crowd on free jersey night.

Final Score, 15 – 4.

30 more minutes of effort = the next Post πŸ“« and this time, it’s for young Dakota Walls Racing 🏁 and Hickory Motor Speedway !

The next place for walking πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈhappened at the Rest Area on I-40, just before Hickory, North Carolina. That set things up nicely for a stop βœ‹οΈ at the Hickory Motor Speedway, where our Dakota is set to race 🏁 one week from today.

Cash πŸ’Έ Only

I’m not sure of my schedule for next Saturday yet, but anytime I can try to move the needle for the Walls family, I do my best to do so.

We are proud to play a small role in their efforts and are thrilled about next Saturday !!!

Boogity, Boogity, Boogity….
