Our Mr Manley is just two weeks away from taking his hard-working soldiers back to Nationals ! Next stop ✋️is Fort Knox, Kentucky, for our Raiders of JROTC

The troop is gearing up for their Big Trip and Coach walked me through the weekend plans.

Drive over on Friday, get set up, and scout out the course before hitting the bunks.

Saturday morning 🌄 starts the competition, and it’s wall to wall throughout the day as units from across the country make the trek.

Saturday night in the area and then returning on Sunday. The Sunday departure time is based on whether the team lands a Top 5 finish. If they were to do so, they would stay a bit longer for the awards ceremony.

Twice in the past stretch, the team landed Top 20 finishes ! When you consider it a national competition, that is pretty impressive !

Five Good Minutes with Coach Nester about last night in Chilhowie as the Varsity team packs up for the trek over to Stuart as it’s time to play the Cougars of Patrick County.

Carroll County dropped a hard fought 7-3 decision to Chilhowie last night 🌙 and we ran a story about it minus ➖️ any quotes from Coach Nester. The team was late getting back, so we connected this morning.

Thought one made me smile – ” If you were just a fan of Softball, it was an enjoyable came to watch.”

” We received solid pitching all night, and I was pleased with our defensive effort from start to finish. “

” We were able to match their offense in regards to hits ( Carroll County -10, Chilhowie -11), but they were able to bunch theirs up at the key times.”

” No time to dwell on it because we have to travel to Stuart now to face another quality opponent.”

Taking the efforts back across  the Boulevard now that middle school 🏫 Softball has been pushed back. Soccer ⚽️ restart has been announced at 5:30 pm

Last night 🌙 at 7:18 p.m., we entered into a lightning 🌩 delay at Tommy Thompson Field as we were hosting Patrick County High School in a Boys soccer game.

Our Cavaliers are leading 1-0 on a goal by Aiden Puckett, and there is less than 20 minutes remaining in the first half.

We will pick things back up right at 5:30 and when I have more information about how the tickets 🎟 from last night will be handled, I will add that to this post 📫.
