Today, the college baseball βΎοΈ team that I’m partly responsible for played a game that we lost 16-2 after the home team broke a 2-2 tie with 14 unanswered runs. Wow, would that have been an easy one to just glaze over.
West Virginia Tech University rallied in the top of the fifth inning this afternoon to tie Shawnee State at 2-2. Sadly for us, the momentum ended there as the home team got to our bullpen in the bottom of the inning.
We will head back out there tomorrow with our heads up !
Shawnee State is in the hunt for the top spot, while the Golden Bears π» continue to chase an invite to the post-season tournament.
West Virginia Tech University will look to break a trend this weekend, and Portsmouth, Ohio, is as good of a place as any to build on the mid-week sweep of Davis and Elkins.
There is still plenty of time for WVU-T to climb up the ladder πͺin the River States conference standings, but there is a sense of urgency to this weekend.
Four weekends remain in the regular season following this one, so it’s a great time to take care of business on the Diamond π.
