CCSO was βin the houseβ at Christiansburg High School today for Area 9 Special Olympics Spring Games Track and Field today with 12 athletes and 11 volunteers. Lots of smiles, plenty of gutsy effort, and great sportsmanship abounded from all the teams there. The team came back Carroll County with fistfuls of ribbons and great stories to tell!!!
Looking forward to seeing everyone later today and hearing about it all!
S/O meet in Christiansburg

The new breakdown :
2:00 pm Game Time
1:55pm Plate Meeting
1:30pm IU Columbus Senior Ceremony
1:15pm Tech I/O
12:30pm Field Arrival
12:05pm Departure (could change)
12:00pm Load Vans
6:00am-10:00am Breakfast

Β The first thing to adjust to here is that the team has a six hour trip back home following the game. Fortunately, ourΒ student athletes can use Sunday as a bounce back day before returning to class on Monday morning.
The integrity of the game is what today is about. The six postseason spots have been decided in the River States Conference for the season, and both West Virginia Tech and IU – Columbus are on the outside looking in. The game today will have zero effect on the postseason, so it would be easy enough to just load up and head back to Beckley.
Integrity is a BIG part of what we do here at WVU-T, so we will do everything possible to get the game played and then head back to Beckley, then for me on to Laurel Fork.
Speaking π of π‘, Casey Burcham and Vickey Ritchie are set to have BIG days, and we are hoping π for the best possible results for both.
Rain π§, Rain π§, go away, we have a baseball βΎοΈ game to play !

The third member of the trio is Vickey Ritchie and our Special Olympics Basketball program as the venture into Shawn Montgomery’s world of Track and Field today !

Speaking of Track and Field – the next story will be the results from yesterday!

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Have a Blessed Day π !
