Saturday morning πŸŒ„ fellowship at the Team Hotel 🏨 as we adjust to the rain falling here in Columbus, Indiana. Game time now pushed from noon until 2pm.

The new breakdown :

2:00 pm Game Time
1:55pm Plate Meeting
1:30pm IU Columbus Senior Ceremony
1:15pm Tech I/O
12:30pm Field Arrival
12:05pm Departure (could change)
12:00pm Load Vans
6:00am-10:00am Breakfast

Β  The first thing to adjust to here is that the team has a six hour trip back home following the game. Fortunately, ourΒ  student athletes can use Sunday as a bounce back day before returning to class on Monday morning.

The integrity of the game is what today is about. The six postseason spots have been decided in the River States Conference for the season, and both West Virginia Tech and IU – Columbus are on the outside looking in. The game today will have zero effect on the postseason, so it would be easy enough to just load up and head back to Beckley.

Integrity is a BIG part of what we do here at WVU-T, so we will do everything possible to get the game played and then head back to Beckley, then for me on to Laurel Fork.

Speaking πŸ”Š of 🏑, Casey Burcham and Vickey Ritchie are set to have BIG days, and we are hoping πŸ™ for the best possible results for both.

Rain 🌧, Rain 🌧, go away, we have a baseball ⚾️ game to play !

Saturday will be SPECIAL for a number of reasons, including Casey Burcham, Vickey Ritchie, and Lawrence Nesselrodt…

Morning πŸŒ„ Brew
The school calendar is blank
Final road game for the season
Casey Burcham and his group will be holding their camp tonight with a true Class Act joining them ! Danny Sheafer comes to The Hill tonight !

The third member of the trio is Vickey Ritchie and our Special Olympics Basketball program as the venture into Shawn Montgomery’s world of Track and Field today !

Speaking of Track and Field – the next story will be the results from yesterday!

Travis Osborne and his Bible Verse of the Day :

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Have a Blessed Day πŸ™Œ !

Halloween in April ? Why not !

Coach Vickey has introduced some new skill challenges, and naturally, they involve Halloween πŸŽƒ props.

We’ve had another nice turnout of both athletes and family members. One thing about being in the gym with Vickey is that there will be a treasure chest ( Halloween term ) of quality photos πŸ“Έ taken and shared by Cathy, Samantha, and today, Jeannie Ritchie

Starting forward for the visitors !
Patrick is either catching his breath or in time out….

Mid practice break time ⏲️ and then it’s In to the scrimmage !

Another Sunday afternoon filled with INCLUSION is now in the books πŸ“š !

I believe that the next page in the story will take place tomorrow night at Tommy Thompson Field as the Girls πŸ‘§ Soccer team is playing at 🏑🏠🏑.

One of the MANY talents of Vickey Ritchie is her ability to constantly reinvent the wheel πŸ›ž that is Special Olympics Basketball πŸ€

Later this afternoon, we will gather at Hillsville Elementary School 🏫 for the latest round of Special Olympics Basketball πŸ€ practice. It’s 8:30 am. right now, and Coach is mapping out a game plan, but her effort has a twist.

We will use Head Coach Rick Nester as an example. When our softball coach holds a practice, he expects all 11 players to show up and participate that day. Maybe, every so often, one player will need to miss a day for an important reason, but for the norm, Coach knows what to expect at a given practice.

Vickey Ritchie, in my five years of hanging around and trying hard to be her Kevin Burress ( someone who cares as much as you and is willing to step out on a limb if it will make someone smile), I’ve seen the number as small as 10 but as large as 30+.

Yet, just like an accordion πŸͺ—, Vickey will expand or retract on the fly ! It’s not until the gym door opens and folks start walking in that Vickey is sure of her game plan.

Being that today, we are going to celebrate being halfway to Boo Ridge. Instead of calling her a Magician 🎩, we will call her a witch πŸ§™β€β™‚οΈ. Either way, this lady has MAD SKILLS, and she’s not afraid to use them for Good. I guess that makes her the Good Witch πŸ§™β€β™€οΈ.

WelcomeπŸ™ to Sunday, April 12th, 2026, which is both the end of Spring Break and a day for pumpkins πŸŽƒ !

Morning πŸŒ„ Brew
School calendar πŸ“… is blank

Furman University is returning its top 9 players from this past season !

Later today, Vickey Ritchie will host a halfway to Boo Ridge Special Olympics basketball πŸ€ practice !

Travis Osborne and his Bible Verse of the Day :

Psalm 122:1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.

Have yourself a Blessed Day πŸ™Œ!
