Thursday will focus on Ashville, NC and Duluth, Georgia and 8 Women’s College Basketball games. The Why is easy – because one of our own is chasing the dream that is March Madness !!! [Day Long Post πŸ“«]

Alyssa Ervin

Greetings from Ashville, North Carolina!

At 11:00 am today both the Atlantic Coast Conference and the SoCon will begin the first of their four games on the day. Down in Duluth its Virginia versus Clemson in the ACC and here its the #1 – #8 match-up between UT – Chattanooga and Western Carolina.

The ACC invited 15 of its 18 teams down to Georgia and they began play yesterday afternoon with a triple header.

The three that didn’t qualify

Wednesday took the field down from 15 to 12 as Wake, Stanford and Florida State exited the Arena. The opener is the #8 – #9 game and both Virginia and Clemson are looking to punch πŸ‘Š their ticket to the Big Dance πŸ’ƒ.

Here at the SoCon Tournament, all eight schools qualified and only one is guaranteed to advance to the NCAA Tournament after Sunday.

Our segment this winter, called Saved by the Bell πŸ””: The Cavalier College Years is what brings us to Ashville today. Alyssa Ervin is the All-Time scoring leader in the history of Carroll County High School and her team is here chasing The Dream !

Is Furman University going to win three straight games to advance to the Bigger stage and then win six straight to become National Champs πŸ†??? No they probably don’t have a Billion to One shot at that happening but the old line about the Lottery – you cannot win if you don’t play fits nicely.

Playing in game four of four today versus Mercer University, the path is straight forward. Defeat the Bears 🐻 and go back to the team hotel 🏨 for some rest and return to action 🎬 at 11am on Friday morning to face the winner of the #1 – #8 tilt.

Fall to Mercer and you pack up your bags πŸŽ’ and make the short trip back to campus and watch the next round from your dorm room.

The game played at Timmons Arena back on February 21st is the one that prevented the Lady Paladins from turning the three way tie for the regular season πŸ‘‘ from being a four way tie.

The Top 3 each swept their opponent today and are safe bets to advance to the Friday semifinals. The Furman – Mercer game, much like Virginia – Clemson figures to be the game of the day.

Here in Ashville until the Paladins are no longer and then its off to Beckley, West Virginia for our weekend series with Kentucky Christian University that is set to begin on Friday afternoon at 2 pm

Here’s hoping πŸ™ that I have a Basketball game to watch at 11:00 am on Friday besides the Duke Blue Devils hosting the Virginia – Clemson winner on TV πŸ“Ί.

Following the bounce back season for Christy’s daughter has been such a pleasant experience ! Here is hoping πŸ™ that today is not the end of the road.

We have a Morning πŸŒ„ Brew that is percolating in Eastern Standard Time ! Today kicks off the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s tournament and tomorrow they are joined by Alyssa Ervin and the SoCon !

School Calendar remains blank but we have 12 teams getting ready to rumble !

So bummed that after Greensboro hosted the ACC Women for what felt like forever, this year its being played in Atlanta. Duke has a double bye and will join the Party πŸ₯³ at Noon on Friday.

Tomorrow morning in Ashville !
Howard Mayo and his Motovational Nugget will appear here shortly !
Travis Osborne and his Bible Verse of the Day :

Proverbs 4:18 But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

Our youngest child is kinda old now but she had a great night last night in regards to the VHSL State Tournament. Rebecca attended Spotswood High as a Freshman and then spent her final three years at Luray High School.

Luray Boys πŸ‘¦ Basketball also advanced !

In case you missed it last night πŸŒ™

Clare Coyle and Alyssa Ervin were both recognized by the SoCon !
Harra’s Cherokee Center in Ashville tomorrow morning πŸŒ„ at 11am !

Have yourself a Blessed Day πŸ™Œ

Let’s call πŸ“ž this one : Mothers πŸ‘© and Daughters ! We celebrate our Alyssa Ervin being named 2nd Team All – SoCon ahead of the tournament on Thursday.

The three amigos that can stake a claim to being the Real Alyssa Ervin Top Fan will all have to agree that Christy is the only one that goes by the title of Mom!

Big Day for a number of folks connected with The Hill !

Marion Harris is the one who has the story about encouraging a very young little Girl that she should try and play Basketball πŸ€.

Kris Richardson is the one who coached her early on in her career and later helped pen πŸ–Š a Book πŸ“– about her.

I get to be the one ( and only ) person to both create the Book about her and the other Lady Cavaliers and then become a beat writer for the 2025 – 2026 Lady Paladins.

Ed Robtison gets the credit for Coaching her through Outlaws Travel Ball.

Marc Motley helped put a couple of rings πŸ’πŸ’ on her fingers but the happiest and proudest person in the Circle πŸ”΅ is Mrs Christy Ervin !!!

Editor Note πŸ“ : Jon Ervin is probably smiling tonight as well !

Clare Coyle, the intense anchor βš“ to the Post game for the ‘Dins made 1st Team!
