Let the Madness of March begin for Women’s College Basketball πŸ€. First here at Cameron Indoor and then off to Carmichael for Travis Osborne

Two pieces of business up front before we take in four of the 16 Women’s games today.

#1 – Yes, I will switch over to a powder blue shirt πŸ‘• for the two games over at UNC. I gotta return the level of respect πŸ™ that Travis Osborne showed when he used our tickets 🎟 to attend the UNC at Duke University last month.

#2 – While we want Kira Lawson and our Lady Blue Devils to defeat the Cougars of the College of Charleston, our youngest of three Sons attended the School 🏫 down on The Battery back in the day! No cheering for a wipe out here in the first of four.

Let’s watch some Women’s College Basketball πŸ€ !!!!!!

#11 Nebraska versus #6 Baylor University

Big 10 versus Big 12 in this one.

Nebraska has one advantage in  that the played once already inside Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Cornhuskers defeated Richmond two days ago in their play-in game. Already familiar with the building….

Baylor scored the first 7, but now it’s 9-8 as Nebraska has trimmed it to one.

Baylor University was our first opponent back in November over in Paris, France πŸ‡«πŸ‡·. It was the start of our 3-6 stretch.

Up in Phili, it appears that UVA Men will hold off Wright State. 82 – 73 final for the Hoos.

Maryland 51, Murray State 35 (Half)

Back 2 Back whistles could decide this one , which would be a shame after two teams fought this hard.

Travis Osborne and his Bible Verse of the Day :

Psalm 94:19 In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.

Coach Mayo and his Motovational Nugget for the Day will appear here shortly…

We will be heading out to Durham and Chapel Hill shortly to take in the quadruple header of Women’s College Basketball πŸ€ but we are looking forward to seeing how much coverage we can produce for our 8 High School teams as the day plays out.

Eight of the 12 teams are set to be in action 🎬 tonight, following our two Track and Field teams competing yesterday. Only Adrienne Harris McGuire and Brittany Kinney with our Girls Soccer ⚽️ teams will be idle.

It’s an exciting time of the Year !!!

Have yourself a Blessed Day πŸ™Œ

Sunday March 15th and the Morning πŸŒ„ Brew includes leaving West Virginia, celebrating with Dakota Walls, invites to the Women’s tournament and quality time with Vickey Ritchie !

CCHS calendar is Blank
Two races 🏁 this Spring and both ended in Top 3 finishes !!!

Later today we look to find out two things – which three teams are being sent to Duke University for the NCAA and did Alyssa Ervin and Furman University do enough to earn an invite to the smaller of the Dances πŸ’ƒ. They will play on Thursday if they make the guest list!

We have played five games across three days this week and divided time in between Charleston and Beckley but now its time for our Golden Bears 🐻 to hit the road. First stop βœ‹ on the drive back will be at Hillsville Elementary School to work with Vickey Ritchie and our Special Olympics Basketball program.

I haven’t heard anything officially but maybe Callie Harris will lace up her sneakers one more time and play in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes ✝️ Basketball All – Star game here in the near future.

Travis Osborne and his Bible Verse of the Day :

Matthew 15:11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

Have yourself a Blessed Day πŸ™Œ

Here is the Women’s Basketball Invitational Tournament breakdown and know that we have our fingers crossed 🀞for Alyssa Ervin and Furman University to receive an Invite !

After the dust settles on the NCAA selection show and we find out the three teams that will be joining us in Durham next weekend, the focus will shift to the WNIT.

Furman University finished up at 18-13 after going 1-1 in the SoCon tournament down in Ashville. Head Coach Pierre Curtis and his team would love to be one of the 32 teams to receive the nod.

Getting to remain together as a team for another week or two is the selling point here. The opening round game would be played opposite the opening day of the Men’s March Madness but that’s okay because being in the spotlight isn’t the ultimate goal for Curtis and his team right now.

Year 3 was a success as the team finished in the upper half of the league and won a post season game. They played road games in three different SEC arenas and even hosted their neighbors from Clemson University.

The Lady Paladins have checked alot of boxes. Clare Coyle was named to the First Team and Alyssa was named to theΒ  Second Team for the regular season. But there is still one more on the wish list as making this field is a stamp of approval and will help in recruiting. It says that the program is in the Top 100 in the Country.

The announcement won’t set of fireworks tomorrow night because Millions of Hoops fans will be too busy filling out their brackets for the Big Dance. But Furman University Women want to join the Men’s Basketball team in the post season. It’s worth noting that the Mens team was in the building for their counterparts Semi-final game. Karma built that helped them cut down the nets later…..

Furman University Women’s Basketball wants to Dance πŸ’ƒ and they have earned the right to do so. We will wait to find out if that is the case shortly after we see if Duke is indeed a #2 and whether we open on Friday or Saturday ?

Our Kiddo wants to Dance πŸ’ƒ and I’m sure that she has Shoes πŸ‘ž

Cue KC and the Sunshine Band singing Boogie Shoes…..
