It’s time for the Sunday Morning 🌄 Brew on a Day that is set to include Flights ✈️, a trio of Basketball 🏀 games and writing ✍ a Gamer for Anthony Barnes and our Cavaliers…

The four shades 😎 of Basketball 🏀 today will be a nice mix of writing, watching 👀 on line( Furman Women) watching in person ( New Mexico State Men ) and keeping up with from a distance ( Duke Women).

Yesterday at Fort Chiswell, the Junior Varsity Cavaliers edged Narrows during the afternoon and the Varsity team fell 69-65 in the eighth game of the day. I have all of my notes 📝 from the day and later they will get wrapped around the thoughts of Head Coach Anthony Barnes.

For the third time this season, Alyssa Ervin and Furman University (6-6) is set to play a road game inside a SEC Gymnasium as the Paladins travel down to Gainesville to take on the Florida Gators. Depending upon your time zone, tip is set for 2pm Eastern and available to watch on the SEC Network.

At 7:30 am, we begin the trek over to El Paso, Texas in preparation for the Duke University Bowl 🥣 game on New Years Eve against Arizona State University.

This is relevant to the day in that the game story for Carroll County will get written across the two flights ✈️ over this morning.

Kira Lawson and Duke University Women’s Basketball 🏀 team is set to play todsy against an 11-1 Syracuse team up in the Dome. Duke, like Furman, sits at 6-6 and looks to get above .500 on the season but will face an uphill battle

The in-person Basketball 🏀 comes in the form of the Men’s team at New Mexico State at 3pm Mountain ⛰ time. In years past when Duke made it to a Bowl 🥣 game it was a quick get there and get back type of trip.

This year, with the challenges that Medication presents, it will be a five day/ four night loop. That is how Lacruses, New Mexico enters the mix.

Let’s take just a minute to say 👏👏👏 to the University of Virginia (11-3) for winning their 11th football game and a season for the first time in the schools history last night in Jacksonville !!!

When both teams from Utah Tech and Southern Utah University are all off or away, you sneak further into the desert 🏜 for your basketball 🏀 action 🎬.

1pm PST Tip with the Running Rebels Men playing in the big part of the building at 4pm.

Head Coach Anthony Barnes just shared his thoughts on the game last night and here in a bit I will get started on the game story for him. Being that this one is as close to Christmas 🎄 as it is, this gamer will come with a OneofUs.Care twist.

Yesterday, it was one of the players Mothers 👩 that was helping me gather information and that triggered a thought process for me. Beginning with the starting lineup, I realized that I had experienced the privilege of meeting each of the Mothers 👩 involved.

Once that was in my brain 🧠, there was no turning back. So, where I would normally type Blake Reed it will say Sam’s Boy, Isaiah Easter = Vickie’s Boy, etc, etc, etc…. Nothing but neat Ladies across the board.

How does Marion Harris tie 👔 into all ? Mr Harris is set to be our eyes 👀 and ears back on The Hill as both the Junior Varsity and Varsity Girls are set to host games in our Christmas event!!

New Mexico (8-2) scored the first six points of the game before UNLV (5-5) went on a 28 – 4 run 🏃‍♂️….Momentum is real, especially in Basketball 🏀… End of 1st, 31 – 13

Late in the 3rd quarter over in Nashville, Kira Lawson and the Lady Blue Devils are closing in on a 6th victory.

54 – 32, Rebels at the break…

74 – 53 after 3…New Mexico swished a 3-pointer from beyond half court to end the third but it was ruled too late.

Now we are roughly 100 feet away for the Men’s Basketball game between UNLV and Fresno State. Fun Fact being Fresno State us the closet University to my hometown of Lemoore, California !

Gone, but not forgotten, Lady Blue Devils are hosting a 10-2 Jackrabbits team tonight at Cameron Indoor Stadium 💙

If on the East Coast versus the West, we would be at Duke University Women’s Basketball 🏀 with Kira Lawson. Keeping an eye 👁 👀 on them while monitoring four other Carroll County games.

Duke leads 55 – 28 at the break !

Wrapping up a blissful Thanksgiving Day with another Women’s Basketball 🏀 twin bill and appreciative of everyone who took the time to say Happy Thanksgiving 😊 to us !

The Matchups :

South Carolina and Texas playing in the Championship game here in a few minutes. The games are being played in reverse order due to it being Prime Time (8pm on the East Coast).

This duel here could very well be a preview of the National Championship game in late March / Early April !

Dawn and her Gamecocks are a slight favorite and in the night cap, UCLA is a double digit favorite over Duke.

Linda will have her attention divided as her Blue Devils are facing Arkansas in Chicago while Texas – USC is taking place.
