Bulls leading 39-29 @ the half.

Duke is struggling from 3 (0-6), FG (37%) and FT (9/15-60%), hence the 10 point deficit. White out game for the Bulls = Free T-shirts πŸ‘•…

I think we can really see where we are getting better at handling the ball and attacking the basket. Our defense showed some good signs with our rotations. Hopefully we will continue to work hard and get better – from Howard Mayo πŸ™

After 3rd, Bulls 63-46 over Duke (24-17 in the 3rd)….

Duke will fall to 3-3 with the next two games against Top 5 teams over the Thanksgiving holidays.

Carroll County Middle School Boys πŸ‘¦ fall 44-36 in an up tempo game in Wytheville on Wednesday night πŸŒ™

Wytheville – Sam Johnson led the way for Head Coach Darian Brown and the Middle School Cavaliers by scoring a team high 13 points but the team could not overcome a balanced attack by the homestanding Scott Memorial Middle School.

SMMS scored 22 points in each of the halves and that proved to be just enough to escape with a 44-36 victory.

Five Cavaliers dented the scorebook on the night as Trenton Poe added eight points while Gibson Barr totaled seven. Grant Reed (5 points) and Caleb Hill (3 points ) rounded out the scoring for Carroll County

” Finally, I’m home before 10 pm and finally we got a victory,” said Richardson. ” Hats off to these girls for continuing to work hard. Perseverance pays off when you believe in the process and believe in each other. Great overall team win. We play tomorrow at home against Radford.”

Halftime score….

The Lady πŸ‘© Cavaliers avoided the slowΒ  start that has plagued them for most of the season, cruising to a 23-3 lead at the break and then holding on for the victory. Briley McGhee added eight points and Kierra Robinson scored the remaining basket 🧺 to round out the scoring.

The offense was limited to just three players but the impressive defensive effort went across the board.

Carroll County Middle School 🏫 Girls score a season high in points but fall 36-32 at Patrick County on Tuesday night.

Stuart – Zari Cushman exploded for 13 second half points for the Lady πŸ‘© Cavaliers at Patrick County Tuesday night but the Cougars held on for a 36-32 victory.

Cushman scored 10 of her game high points in the third quarter as Carroll County turned a 16-9 deficit into a 26-25 lead with 6:00 left to play.

Patrick County rallied late in the game to earn the hard fought victory, leaving CCMS Head Coach Kris Richardson with dualing thoughts about the efforts he received from his team.

” We continue to play hard but we just cant seem to turn it into wins,” said Richardson. ” We were down 6 most of the game before we tied it up with around 3 minutes left. Too many mental mistakes late in the game along with shooting 6-21 from the free throw line. We look to continue to improve.”

Cushman had plenty of company in the scoring column as six other Lady Cavaliers scored at least two points. Kierra Robinson was next with five points, Briley McGhee netted four while both Jenna Bowman and Natalie Dalton added three each. Both Maddie Carico and Macy Lineberry finished up with 2 points.

The team will return to action 🎬 on Wednesday at Scott Memorial Middle School in Wytheville.
