Staying pretty busy, even when 2,137 miles away from The Hill ! It works when folks want to both work with you & get involved !!

Sharing a moment with Rick Nester yesterday afternoon about how things were going out here after the first three weeks…

We love the fact that both Rick and Donna are very active with our attempts to highlight as much as humanly possible that is taking place in Carroll County, Virginia in general and the School 🏫 system in particular.

I am well aware that Social Media is a huge part of the landscape back home but we are trying to share positive thoughts about our Youth to the masses that don’t reside on Social Media.

We have so much to be proud of and if I can bring a few smiles to the Parents of our Kiddos each and every day then my Life’s Mission is working !

Thank You to everyone who helped πŸ’— the past 3 weeks as its made the coverage possible !!!

The question that I get asked fairly frequently is, ” Are you the one that works for Marion Harris ? “

I just smile and think that I’m on a Mission from God to change the World 🌎 one positive thought at a time but saying Yes, that’s me is easier!

Hope everyone in the Harris family πŸ‘ͺ is feeling better !

Darian Brown and his Middle School 🏫 Basketball team took a season ending curtain call last night at Blacksburg, allowing us to Celebrate the season as a whole !

Coach Brown and Coach Reitzel βž• 15 eager Cavaliers !

The final score last night was 34 – 10 in favor of the host Bruins, leaving the team with an 8-11-3 mark over the whirlwind season. The highlight of the effort was a Consolation bracket victory up in Wytheville and Grant Reed draining seven 3-pointers at Rural Retreat.

Samantha Reed sent me the book once again so we will show the 10 points scored by Carroll County :

Sam Johnson 5, Gibson Barr 2, Trenton Poe 2 and Caleb Hill 1.

Last night the four eighth graders were in the starting lineup and the entire roster saw action 🎬. Beth Bouldin went out of her way to try and capture each member of the team in a Photo πŸ“·.

Two things remain before we call πŸ“ž this one finished. I will now send it to both Darian Brown for his thoughts and the same for Beth Bouldin – thoughts and other pics that she wishes to add.

Anthony Barnes was fired up when he was describing his new young Coach to me before the season started and after two months, I will say that he’s All That !

What an awesome season it was! To have a fresh new middle school AD, 2 brand new groups, 4 incredibly knowledgeable leaders in the coaching positions, and a plethora of personalities and talent levels, these CCMS Cavaliers have really shown us a sunshine spotlight on the future of the basketball programs ahead.

Thank you again for the opportunity to share photos and score highlights of both teams. I’m ever so grateful for a community and school faculty and staff that supports the young Cavs on both the athletic and academic levels.

So much respect to every single person that had a hand in making this season special. The breath of fresh air has been much needed and our children will someday be able to look back on these days and know they come from somewhere spectacular.

It’s always a great day to be a Cavalier! Let’s go Cavs!! πŸ’™πŸ€

Last night πŸŒ™ in Blacksburg we said our Goodbyes to a Non-Stop βœ‹ couple of months ( – the weather) for Kris Richardson and his Carroll County Middle School 🏫 Girls πŸ‘§ Basketball πŸ€ team

The record might look something like 6-13-3 for the MS Lady πŸ‘© Cavaliers but those numbers simply don’t reflect the progress that was made over the past couple of months.

The final game ended with an 18 -14 setback in the one makeup game that was slated after the team suffered four straight Snowed out games. On the road in Blacksburg was how the curtain closed on Year #1 of what we could call πŸ“ž ” The Next Generation “

Β  First, let’s share the thoughts of the Head Coach :

Kris is already creating ways to improve as I type this out. It’s the life that driven people live, our burden to carry!

One more THANK YOU to Beth Bouldin πŸ™ for providing the Photos πŸ“· that helped us document Kris and the Girls πŸ‘§
One more THANK YOU to Mr Bowman for his assistance with the team uniforms !

Thank You to Kayla Nester for being a wonderful Athletic Director ❀ for the program and for Martin McKenzie for stepping up at the Home 🏑 games !

Story Time : The term is Cherry πŸ’ Picking… 7 games but we will break it down to 3.5 stories with this one being the .5

Third time hopefully πŸ™ will be the charm as once again Coach Cushman and Coach Mayo had their plans changed in regards to the non-district contest at Magna Vista.

Mother Nature canceled the first trip and illness gets the credit for the second postponement. Mr DeHaven will go back to the drawing board for the next try.

The Duke Womens game falls into a different category so that leaves us four games that will be turned into 3 stores. Darian Brown and Kris Richardson finished their seasons tonight so there stores will be stand alone pieces.

The Boys πŸ‘¦ Basketball trip to Christiansburg will be the third story on the night πŸŒ™,…

End of a Busy Day of Basketball πŸ€ Scoreboard:

Here are the Final scores of the seven games we were keeping our eyes πŸ‘€ on tonight :

Girls πŸ‘§ Varsity at Magna  Vista – postponed due to Illness

Girls πŸ‘§ Junior Varsity at Magna Vista – postponed due to Illness

Boys πŸ‘¦ Varsity at Christiansburg – fell 79-73

Boys πŸ‘¦ Junior Varsity at Christiansburg – fell 83 – 45

Middle School 🏫 Girls πŸ‘§ at Blacksburg – fell 18 -14

Middle School 🏫 Boys πŸ‘¦ at Blacksburg – fell 34 – 10

Time to say Thank You πŸ™ to everyone who has helped me up to this point…

Kris Richardson, Samantha Lark – Smith, Beth Bouldin and Samantha Reed β™₯

Now, its time to watch the Seahawks – Rams 🐏 and figure out what all needs a story written.
