These two outstanding Staff members at Carroll County High School were selected as part of our partnership with Carroll County High School. Each month this School year there will be one or two Staff members selected after performing random acts of kindness by their Co-Workers.

Here are Angela Goad and Nathan Jones for the month of August. $1,000.00 has been set aside for programs within the School 🏫 and the pair will play a role in where it goes.

All three teams in the Cross Country program are set to make their debuts later today and we wanted to create a send-off for them.

We will be with all three sets of runners 🏃‍♂️from start 2 finish this season !

I want to take a second to congratulate Bill O’Brien and his latest squad, Boston College, for their efforts last night 🌙 as the defeated Florida State in Tallahassee.

O’Brien spent some time at Duke University years ago so he’s always been easy to pull for since.

Now, back to the Day at hand….

Head Coach Shawn Montgomery will be taking all 3 of his Cross Country teams over to the Martinsville area for their initial race 🏁 of the season. Boys, Girls and Middle School will all be competing today.

On the Hill, Middle School 🏫 Volleyball 🏐 will be back in action 🎬 at 5pm

We hope to have a tidbit or two on each of the four events later today !

Here’s hoping that everyone 🙏 will be able to enjoy their Holiday with Friends and Family 👪. Labor Day weekend has a significant impact on a large number of people for a number of reasons.

Here in Carroll County its the second of the book end Holiday weekends where Hillsville hosts a massive Flea Market. The amount of money 💰 brought in through the process is substantial and a number of groups raise funds by parking cars 🚗 is impressive.

. Labor Day is also the unofficial end of the Golf ⛳ season for the casual golfer 🏌️‍♂️. Out here at Olde Mill the rentals are full of people trying to make sure that they sneak in a few more rounds. The diehard Golfer will play anytime there’s not snow on the ground.

For those of you that live in the Fashion world 🌎 there’s something about not wearing White after Labor Day ??? Good Tip if you pay attention to those things – me, I am happy when my socks match.

Labor Day also marks the opening of the College Football 🏈🏈🏈 season !

For others is just a paid day off and we can all appreciate that.
