It’s a hectic Saturday here in the land of Cavaliers as there is activity on a number of fronts. There is also a decent amount of celebration taking place after the Varsity 🏈🏈🏈 team held on last night to defeat Grayson County over in Independence, 22-18.

  Varsity Volleyball 🏐 should play matches 2,3 and 4 of their season down at Patrick Henry – Glade Springs. The annual event will be getting undweway momentarily.

   Cross Country races 🏁 will also be getting underway (10 am) up at Green Hill Park and we will have all of the results from the meet later today.

  We have College Volleyball 🏐 and College Soccer ⚽️ taking place at four different venues as well so there will be plenty to keep an eye 👁on today !

Eastern Mennonite University (Miss Stockner) VB will be playing 2 matches up in Pennsylvania today.

KK Newman and her Rams 🐏 will be playing Soccer ⚽️ down in South Carolina.

Ashlyn Newman and the Bulldogs will be playing Soccer ⚽️ over in Tennessee

Miss Bunn and the Panthers will be playing Volleyball 🏐 up at Roanoke College…

Ryan Largen is someone that I would want to have Coach my grandchildren and that’s the Highest compliment I can pay the young man. Coach is just getting started and it was a treat for me to get to take in his first game as Head Coach of our Middle School Football 🏈🏈🏈 team last night 🌙.

Everything about the evening was filled to the brim with Community Pride, as I tried to capture last night during the live blog. The crowd, the energy and the atmosphere at Tommy Thompson Field was terrific 👏.

Naturally, the outcome wasn’t the result that Cavalier fans were hoping for but in my World that’s a side note to the story. Bad Luck to have the opponent be the Radford Bobcats but don’t let that dampen the enthusiasm for the journey that Coach Largen and his staff is going to lead you on.

Borrowing from our QB’s Family 👪 because it sums up the message. The team is in great hands and there was plenty of people there to support the effort of a team which includes a number of Kiddos spending their first game with shoulder pads on.

While I don’t know how many times that I will get to witness the team play on Game Day, please know that I’m proud to know Ryan Largen and I believe that he has your Children and your best interest in his Heart ❤.

Ferrum Volleyball 🏐 is set to take the court at Cregger Center on the campus of Roanoke College. The team will be playing a total of four matches across the two days and we will do our best to keep up with our Carroll County High School 🏫 Alum!

Kalee Bunn is one of a handful of former Cavaliers to be playing in College this fall and we will do our best to update the weekend here.

The remainder of the field includes Greensboro, Hollins, Methodist, Roanoke, Randolph, Salem and North Carolina Wesleyan.
