Don’t know what order it will all pop out but it will all Pop Out !
Our trio of Coaches during the Field Hockey 🏑 game yesterday….
Bluefield Soccer ⚽️ finished in a 1-1 👔 today and check out who scored the Rams 🐏 👀 Goal – our KK Newman !!!
Eastern Mennonite University (Madison Stockner) celebrated Alumni Day up in Harrisonburg but fell short in their match.
Kalee Bunn and Ferrum VB was also up in Bluefield but on the West Virginia side playing Bluefield State. The Panthers had their 3 match winning streak snapped as they dropped three close sets to the Home Team.
Ashlyn Newman and Union University is playing a Friday and Sunday schedule down in Alabama. The team opened their weekend with a Victory!
Carroll County High School 🏫 Wrestling Coach West Long and I get together every so often and compare notes 📝 about ways we can move his program in the direction he is ever so passionate about.
One of those conversations took place on Friday as I was driving back from the Northern Virginia area. West was asking how his group could help out Vickey Ritchie and her Special Olympics group ?
The Boo Ridge 5K, Fun Run and Little Gobbler event are the Biggest Day of the year for Vickey and we do everything we can to assist her with it. The greatest challenge of the event is going out afterwards and collecting each and every prop that was placed along the 3.2 mile trek.
At roughly 11:20 am all of the festivities were concluded and it was time to ” straighten up “.
This photo 📷 was taken just past 1pm and you can see everyone except the two helpers that went deepest into the woods. At this point Vickey was all but done ✔ with the HUMONGOUS effort ( if you can say still having to truck 🚚 home roughly 40 containers close).
We swapped out being in the Photo 📷 and everyone in the group knew we were light years ahead of where we would be without the help of Coach Long and his team of hard workers !!!
I can only speak as to how beat up Lin and I are after our six hours of dedicated assistance. Vickey Ritchie has been out there every night 🌙 all week prepping for two hours of pure joy.
Because of the Hometown Heroes move of Coach Long and Company, everyone involved made it home 🏡 to their respective bottles of Aspirin….
Coach, what might have been just six people sure felt like a Hundred !! Reminds me of a story about Fish 🐟 and loafs of Bread 🍞.
When folks notice the OneofUs.Care logo hanging around his Wrestling team this Winter, remember the time that Coach came in and did something for someone who he has no natural connection too.
The very definition of OneofUs.Care!
Officer Chris Mabry absolutely crushed the National Anthem prior to the start of the Race 🏁 👏
