Galax – The World π entered the final nine holes π³ in need of a comeback of biblical proportions as they trailed 6-3 after the third session. Amazingly, it was 6.5 All with two matches remainin before the Locals righted the ship π’ to claim the $15 Million dollars π΅ and bragging rights in the inaugural event.
The teams were drawn up based on where the golfers ποΈββοΈattended High School π« back in the day and were fairly even throughout the match held over the past two weekends.

Darian Brown ( Twin County)Β was the lone golfer ποΈββοΈ to score 4 out of the potential 4 points for their squad. Five golfers were close behind by scoring 2.5 points.
Golden Club winner π : Darian Brown

Congratulations πππ Kyle !!!

When we last checked in with the Marion Harris Golf β³ tour, 12 golfers ποΈββοΈwere playing 18 holes at the Olde Mill Golf Resort in Laurel Fork

The two formats used last weekend were Best Ball on the front Nine and Captains Choice on the back Nine.
To finish up, the golfers will cross The Hill and play one nine of alternate shot followed by a nine of Individual Match play.
There is rumored to have been a couple of roster changes due to contract negotiations and personal appearance fees but the show will go on with play set to begin at 2:00 pm.

Carroll County JV Volleyball squad was down three players and their Head Coach, Nikki Heflin Thursday night at Pulaski County High School. The scorebook will show that the Lady Cougars defeated our Lady Cavaliers 2-0(25-11, 25-16) but progress was made in the second set.
” I was pleased with how the players responded in the 2nd set,” said interm Head Coach Shelia Harris.
” They came out and played hard and never gave up.”
In the opening set Carroll County struggled out of the gate and quickly fell behind 17-5. The Ladies caught their breath after that, playing 8-6 the rest of the way. Highlights in the opening set included an Ace from Willow Barham, service winner from Aaliyah Hampton and a Kill from Paige Ogle.
Trailing 7-2 in the second set, Carroll County began to look more comfortable. The teams were tied at 9-9 after a Morgan Osborne Ace and pulled within 14-12 after a Hampton Ace. Ogle added both a Kill and an Ace during the rally, before the Cougars closed out the match on an 11-4 run πββοΈ.
The team will be off until Tuesday night when they head up I-81 to Glenvar.
Get well soon, Coach Heflin π and Thank You Coach Harris…
