As we drove North up I-81 after the Volleyball π marathon, I was following both the Seattle game, the Texas Rangers game and the Astros game.
When we stopped for the night, it wasn’t looking good so I stayed up and tried to change the Luck. While writing β the Middle School story Texas lost but Seattle trailed 3-1 in the bottom of the 8th inning and has just managed one hit.
During the Junior Varsity story, Josh Naylor ripped a bases loaded double to give the Mariners a 4-3 lead. Houston gave up four straight to Oakland and just like that the Mariners are in the post season and one win from the division !!
Great Day, but I still need a Varsity Volleyball story so let’s get back to it.

Cleveland beating Detroit puts Seattle within 1 game of an opening round bye!

Tuesday night π was our third consecutive Triple Header with the Middle School team and the youngest of our Lady Cavaliers went out in style by defeating the Bobcats 2-1 ( 25-15, 25-18, 9-15).
Head Coach Brittany Kinney was out of town for some educational classes in Northern Virginia so Kelly Holderfield slid into the Captains chair πΊ with both Nikki Heflin and Kayla Nester by her side.
Β CCMS led 7-5 when Laynee Burnett served up five consecutive points, including four straight Aces, to push the score out to 12-5. Briley McGhee scored two Kills and Lillian Spencer added an Ace to make it 18-9. The Lady Cavaliers finished out the set when Emma Keith scored the set closing Kill at 25-15.
Β The second set was knotted up 11-11 until CCMS scored five straight points with Peyton Burcham at the service line. McGhee made it 18-12 with an over the shoulder Kill. McGhee added two more late Kills, Burnett added one more service winner and Spencer scored the match point to close out the 25-18 victory.
The two teams played a third set to 15 afterwards, giving both teams much needed playing time for their rosters. The Bobcats team won the final set 15-9 but the Lady Cavaliers finished up with some highlights. Laken Lintecum served three straight points to cut the deficit to 11-9 before the visitors closed out the set with the final four points.
Β Fun three nights π with the three teamsΒ playing under the same roof. As Coach Kinney and Coach Holderfield finish up their season, PLEASE know that π in and all updates are Welcome here.
On a personal note π , I did my best to create as positive of an atmosphere for the young ones the past three nights, because they are our future!
