It seemed like it was just yesterday that I walked into the Auxiliary Gym and saw Nikki Heflin and Sheila Harris working πŸ’ͺ out the Junior Varsity team yet tonight it was time to say our Goodbyes πŸ‘‹ to our JV players..

At the beginning of tryouts…

To start this final story with anything other than how elegant the three members of the JV team πŸ’™ spoke about their Coaches  during a pre-match ceremony would be an injustice. Kudos to the team for creating πŸ‘ a tug at your heart ❀ moment that I believe that both Ladies will cherish…

Two pics from Mama Smoot
Travis Osborne with a few pics…

In regards to the actual match, our Lady πŸ‘© Cavaliers pushed the visiting Knights into extra points before falling 26-24.

Morgan Osborne βš“ anchored the service line from 13-16 until 18-16 and Aubrey Hanshaw tied the set at 20-20 with an Ace – pictured above.

Scarlett Dalton landed an Ace to get Carroll County to set point at 24-23 but James River strung together three straight points to take the set, 26-24.

Carroll County trailed 12-6 when Paige Ogle and Hanshaw teamed up on a 4-0 run πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ. The Lady Cavaliers capped their comeback when Osborne landed an Ace and Aaliyah Hampton finished up a point to make it 14-14.

James River closed out the match with an 11-2 run, making the final score 25-16.

Now the season is over and the eight Sophomores will work on their games in hoping πŸ™ to play on the Varsity team next year. The trio of Freshman and 8th graders have plenty of Volleyball 🏐 left in their futures !

Thank You Nikki Heflin and Thank You Shelia Harris for coaching up this group of youngsters ! Job Well Done !!!

Time to sneak in one more Photo πŸ“· of our Middle School 🏫 squad !

Ron Cochran has been such an absolute Blessing to work with the past 5 years ! He will be missed by many in the Community, with OneofUs.Care at the top of that list !

Ron Cochran is working on the home stretch in regards to his time at Omega Office 🏒 Supply down on Main Street.

Our friend has found new owners for his shop and they will officially take over on January 1st. They are young and energetic, certainly up to the task of running the business so its the right time for Ron and his bride πŸ‘° Nancy to ride off into the Sunset πŸŒ‡ together.

Both Ron Cochran and Allen Worrell proved to be tremendous people to partner with during our five years here and in just a few weeks, the Three Musketeers will be no more. But we had a great run and please know that Ron was there for us, every step of the way !

Cindy Edwards holding up the finished product that will be the final thing that Ron and I team up on.

Countless projects over the years, including three of our four banquets, partnership with the Softball T-Shirt πŸ‘• Foul Ball contest and a boatload of things in between.

Β  Thank You Sir, from the bottom πŸ™ of my heart ❀ and I hope that you and Nancy get 30 more years together !

Know that you have been a HUGE part of our efforts in Carroll County !

Last night at Floyd County High School 🏫 was yet another great opportunity to share a moment with Sherry Slaughter! Neat, Neat Lady who has duel citizenship in Carroll & Floyd County..

Sherry works out here in Laurel Fork as she plays a HUGE role in making everything run smoothly at Olde Mill Golf Resort β›³. Working alongside Bo Goins and Hagen Giles, Sherry is part of a great team and works within shouting distance of her Mother πŸ‘© as Mom does the same at our restaurant.

Sherry and Bo

Β  Now let’s connect the dots between Sherry, Vickey Ritchie and Linda / myself over the past 96 hours.

Friday we crossed paths after Boo Ridge prep. Catching both Bo and Sherry together was a Blessing.

Saturday morning πŸŒ„, Sherry and her daughter drove over to Hillsville Elementary School to support Vickey and her Special Olympics effort at Boo Ridge!

Sunday it was back to Hillsville Elementary for Vickey and Basketball practice and then on to Harrisonburg for Trace Reavis golf coverage.

Being that Carroll County plays out at Olde Mill, Sherry had a vested interest in Trace and followed the coverage on our site.

Full circle πŸ”΅, Sherry was at the Floyd County Volleyball 🏐 match last night as she resides on their s side of our neighborly County line.

The photos πŸ“· above came from Sherry after her visit to Boo Ridge.

Whole Lotta of Vickey Ritchie, Linda Carter and Sherry Slaughter in my life the past few days !! If one is going to run themselves ragged, I could not imagine three people who I would rather have been with.
