The Night might have belonged to the Buffaloes but the Moment was All Smoot as Carroll County High School retires #3

Last season Bryce Smoot caught and passed former Cavalier Tee Jackson, sliding into the top spot on the Boys All – Time scoring list. Tuesday night Principal Chuck Thompson and Head Coach Anthony Barnes made it about sliding into a prestigious spot next to Jackson.

Both Bryce and Brayden Smoot are enjoying their freshman year at Southwest Virginia Community College playing for the Flying Eagles. The team will return to action later this week.

The Smoot family has long been a part of Sports on The Hill. The latest member participating in the family business is Aaliyah Hampton and thanks to the kindness of Carroll County High School, Bryce Smoot has a permanent position in the Schools history !

Girls have reached the Half, we trail 18-11. Rylee Woodard leads the way with six points and Milli Parker has 3 and Maeli Parker made two free-throws.

2-7, 9-11 are the quarter breaks.

Back on The Hill, Vickey reports a 31-11 halftime deficit for Ryan Phillips and the Cavaliers.

Carroll County High School will look to stay perfect in the Three Rivers District tonight when we host the Floyd County Buffalo🐃es.

FCHS raced out to a flashy 9-0 start but in their last game ( January 9th) they dropped a 66 – 38 decision at Martinsville.

Carroll County enters the night at 2-0 in the District, 6-5 overall and we know that Floyd County will bring a crowd with them. So, we need to make sure that we bring the ENERGY to the Gymnasium tonight !!!!

The Junior Varsity teams will open the night at 5:30 with the Varsity getting underway shortly after their game is complete.

Anthony Barnes needs your help tonight and we all know that the fellas feed off of the noise. It’s time to defend The Hill !!!
