In hopes of filling the void created by consecutive postponements for Anthony Barnes and our Cavaliers, we revisit the Instant Classic that took place on The Hill back on December 3rd…

The Hill – Carroll County High School 🏫 improved to 2-0 on the young season by scoring 33 points in the fourth quarter in their 96 – 95 victory over visiting Fort Chiswell.

Isaiah Easter dropped 15 of his team high 33 points in the record setting 33 point frame. The fact that Easter and his 33 points were a team high versus game high is a testimony to the talent of Super Sophomore Owen Jackson of the Pioneers.

Jackson finished with 52 points after going 27 – 32 from the free throw line. The game was not a one hit wonder for Jackson who now holds the record for fastest player to 1,000 in Virginia High School League history.

How do you outscote an opponent with a player that hangs 50 βž• on you ? Scoring by committee as the Cavaliers finished the shoot πŸ”« out with FIVE players in double figures.

Eleven was a magical number as well for the Cavaliers as Easter scored that number in the firsr, Hayden Jackson matched it in the third quarter while Blake Reed and Freshman Will Motley dropped their 11 in the final frame.

If you like numbers, you will love the fact that the three players not named Easter, each finished with 15 points. Colton Gravley joined the quartet with 13 points.

” 73 free-throws shot tonight between the two teams,” noted Barnes.

Trace Reavis ( 3 points ) and Eli Lark (2 points ) rounded out the scoring for the Cavaliers.

Carroll County was scheduled to host Christiansburg on Monday and Patrick County tonight. Looking to get the road game at James River out of their minds. Instead of playing ball, which comes naturally, the players are trying hard to stay warm and the Coaches are out trying to clear our roads.

Don’t know if this flashback will help but I have to think it can’t hurt…
