Tonight is the Night πŸŒ™ that Cindy Edwards begins her next chapter of Volleyball 🏐 on The Hill !

CCHS Volleyball heads down to Abingdon tonight for a scrimmage with the Falcons.

Cindy Edwards is set to begin her next chapter in her Hall of Fame coaching career tonight down at Abingdon High School 🏫. While its only a scrimmage on paper, its the first opportunity for her Lady πŸ‘© Cavaliers to wear the uniform and represent the School.

Edwards has retooled her Coaching staff once again and has done so with some familiar names. Kayla Nester continues to spread her wings on The Hill as she has added Volleyball 🏐 and the position of Middle School Athletic Director to her plate 🍽.

Shelia Harris has found the time to dust off her coaches whistle and will be helping out with the Junior Varsity team while enjoying another year of watching πŸ‘€ the youngest Harris daughter, Callie, play Varsity.

Jason Petty retired from his spot as Junior Varsity coach after a decade long run πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ, which will create a bigger role for Nikki Heflin. Also gone is long time cornerstone, Maleah Neely as the hard working former Lady Cavalier steps away from the game she loves πŸ’˜.

Trenton Miller is another name that was connected to the program last season in a Volunteer role but will return to the stands for 2025-2026.

Another person who is a HUGE part of the program is Marion Harris and we will add a title to his efforts this season !

Team Media Liaison – Marion Harris !

The common thread between Coach Edwards and myself is an uncanny level of passion for what we are trying hard to accomplish in life. Here’s to a great trip down to Abingdon tonight !

Tuesday Morning πŸŒ„ and The Streak ! Creating a minimum of one Positive story EVERY day for two straight years is harder than one would think but Welcome πŸ™ to Day #730…

While I have been writing ✍ on our sites for the better part of two decades now, it was August 12,2023 that I challenged myself to see if I could create a minimum of 1 feel good story everyday for one month.

The next stop βœ‹ goal was 6 months and then I celebrated at the 1 year mark. Today makes it two years straight and I am proud of the fact that I never just mailed one in. There was never a day that I created a post πŸ“« just to keep the Streak alive!

Even when things don’t work out the way you want them to, you still shake, shake, shake it off ( Thanks, Taylor) in hopes of making someone else smile.

I will circle πŸ”΅ back and attach the Streak Award to the story after its published and then find the next challenge because life is more fun when there is a carrot πŸ₯• on the end of Life’s Big Stick !

The next story after this one will come later today when I create a Nugget for the next Book πŸ“–, Diamonds πŸ’Ž are a Girls Best Friend : Alvin Davidson.

I will wrap this one up by once again saying a Special Thank You πŸ™ to the brave souls that are email πŸ“§ subscribers to the site. It’s a great help to have a built-in base of folks that enjoy reading πŸ“š a collection of feel good stories.

Have yourself a Blessed Tuesday πŸ™Œ

Rick Nester is at it again ! Coach is always looking for ways to make Softball fun for the Lady Cavaliers and he has struck Gold !

Little Ricky breaks the News !

Dates for Family πŸ‘ͺ vs Daughter kickball games :

Don’t forget about the Softball Alumni Game on September 13th !

Using Cavalier Park for a day of Family Kickball – in a word, Priceless !!!

As we wrap up our High Jump area project, it was time to honor my words in regards to Mr Todd Hill at Hill’s Shoes πŸ‘ž in Cana. It’s safe to say I met a Man capable of telling a great story !

I was out in Utah when word came in that we had received a $500.00 donation from Hill’s Shoes πŸ‘ž towards our High Jump Project !!

Later that day, I wrote a story of gratitude πŸ™ and including a promise that when I was back in Carroll County I was going to drive πŸš— down to the Store to personally say Thank You and proceed to buy my next pair of shoes from them.

The Shoes !

When you meet someone for the first time, you have NO idea how it will go. Meeting Todd Hill was a perfect example but my Word is who I am, so down to Cana I went.

The first thing worth noting is that Todd shared that Brooks Shoes partnered with him on the donation.

Have to show some Love πŸ’˜ to the Shoe Company as well !

Once the conversation started, it preceeded for nearly two hours. A treasure chest of stories about Cana, Carroll County, coaching and playing sports.

First things first, Mr Hill coached Shawn Montgomery back in the day. This is relevant to why Todd chose to get involved with the Track πŸ‘£ and Field project. It was Amazing how closely his description of a young Shawn Montgomery matched up all of the reasons behind my appreciation for both Coach Montgomery and Assistant Coach Jon Delp.

Fun Night πŸŒ™ at Tommy Thompson Field!

Another fun subject was our common appreciation of the Cana based Easter Family πŸ‘ͺ. Todd coached Israel back in the day and I have an appreciation for both Kaylee and Isaiah. Kaylee Easter could be the Poster Child for ” Determination ” and the stories about how hard of a time Big Sis gave little Brother explains the strength πŸ’ͺ and grit that the youngest of the Easter children displays.

I am sure that the two of us had barely scratched the surface when we stopped talking at 5:15. Another great story was about the community gathering around a television πŸ“Ί to watch the 1957 National Championship game ( UNC Hoops) that I believe belonged to his Grandfather.

I love πŸ’˜ Clever, and this is Clever in Spades ♠️!!

I’m not sure if our paths will ever cross again but I know that everytime I wear my new Dress Shoes, I will remember the Man that helped me help our Track and Field program !

Located just half a mile down from Hill’s Shoes is the Cana Country Store and while I missed William Payne, I was able to leave a note πŸ“, thanking him for his support πŸ™ on the same project !

Such a great trip down the Mountain β›°
