After a 7am start to their Thursday, Cavalier Chorus Director Patricia Lineberry took to the highway for a road trip to Richmond with 3 of her star singers.

Seniors Brooke Fitchel and Louis Marshall and Junior Cristina Alderman were selected to the all Virginia Chorus after auditioning earlier this year, and have been working hard in preparation for this weekend’s performance in Richmond.

After two days of rehearsals and settling in, the trio performed a beautiful rendition of the Star Spangled Banner, along with many fellow singers from across the state. Yesterday was full of music as they prepared for today’s performance.

Hoping for another tremendous 🙏 day and and Godspeed on the journey 🏡.

Cavalier Park – The Lady 👩 Cavaliers Softball team has experienced an up and down season in 2025 but just like Dorothy, all they had to do was click their heels together and say ” There’s no place like Home ” .

Carroll County (5-7) raised its winning percentage on The Hill to .750 by defeating Radford 17-1 in Three Rivers District play. After a series of tough luck setbacks on the road, the team splashed its way to a rain soaked victory.

Emma Harman provided the spark from the leadoff spot as the Junior reached based in all four plate appearances. Three walks and a RBI single transformed into four runs scored with three stolen bases.

Natalie Burress went 2 for 4 with two runs scored and 3 RBIS and starting pitcher Addie Greene finished 3 of 3 with 3 RBIS and two runs scored.

Line Score – Time 7:02/8:54 (1;52)

The Lady Cavaliers finished the night with 14 hits and a total of 26 base runners in addition to making the plays in the field behind Greene. CCHS 15 to the plate in the bottom of the first inning, scoring 10 runs before Head Coach Rick Nester ended the uprising by having  Laiken Burnett step off third base early.

Greene and Harman have shared the pitching duties this season for Nester. Against the Bobcats it was Greene in the circle 🔵 and Harman at short stop and the duo made it work. Greene allowed just two singles and the lone run in the top of the second.

Both Bayleigh Allen and Carlie Beamer saw action 🎬 off the bench with both getting to contribute to the avalanche of offense. Beamer stroked a RBI single in her lone at bat and Allen went 1 for 2 with a single, stolen base and run scored.

Kenzie McMillian finished up with 2 hits, 3 RBIS and 3 runs scored plus three assists at second base.  Madison Coleman reached base all four times, finishing 2-2 with a RBI and a run scored.

Laynie-Jo Leonard added one hit, two runs scored and a RBI. Brooke Webb scored in the first inning after being struck by a pitch.

Burnett and Raylee Goins shared the duties at first base and the duo was involved in nine ground ball outs. Burnett added a run scored and Goins a RBI.

All eleven Lady Cavaliers healthy enough to play contributed to the victory and the team will look to build on the momentum on Tuesday evening when they travel to the Highlands for a doubleheader with the Alleghany High Cougars.

The Junior Varsity team was part of the four game sweep over the Bobcats. The final score in the three inning contest was 15-5. Alexis Dalton and her group will host AHS on Tuesday night.

Both the Burcham Bunch and the Nester Nine continued their amazing seasons. Varsity(11-1)  run ruled the Bobcats 12-2 and the undefeated JV finished up with an 18-4 victory.

End of Game Story….
