We have reached February 26th and we can celebrate the fact that March just sounds Warmer !

Morning πŸŒ„ Brew

We currently have 12 teams being formed right now under the watchful eyes πŸ‘€ of dedicated Coaches ! 8 Varsity and 4 Junior Varsity teams that call our four outdoor facilities Home.

Exactly half of them have Tommy Thompson Field, two play at Bill Worrell Field, two play at Cavalier Park and the final pair at the Wilkerson Tennis 🎾 Courts.

Casey Burcham and Adam Nester run our Baseball program.

Shawn Montgomery and Jon Delp run πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ our Track and Field teams.

Forrest Johnson and Jeremy Puckett run the Boys Soccer program while Adrienne Harris McGuire and Brittany Kinney share the Pitch on the Girls side.

Rick Nester and Terry Warf have the two teams that call Cavalier Park 🏑. Mr Warf stepping in for Alexis Dalton.

That brings us to the Tennis 🎾 courts where last year Martin McKenzie and Christy Shupe led the Girls and Boys teams. Not sure yet of the official status of those two spots but hopefully will very soon.

Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

Out here we have three things to keep an eye on today

Utah Tech is hosting Day #1 of a four day Softball tournament called the Beehive Classic. It begins at 10am each day and will include a Triple Header of action 🎬!

Once the Softball is over, Kira Lawson and Duke University Women’s Basketball will be hosting Florida State.

The nightcap will take place inside Burns Arena as the Trailblazer Men continue their pursuit of the WAC regular season crown πŸ‘‘.

Should be a healthy and active day out here and here’s hoping πŸ™ that each of you have a Blessed πŸ™Œ Day!

Weather for The Hill today

Saved by the Bell πŸ””: The Cavalier College Years says Thanks for the season πŸ™ a second time as Katie Lam and Roanoke College bow out of the ODAC tournament.

Katie Lam completed her second season as a member of a very deep Roanoke College team. Lam, a 2024 graduate πŸŽ“ of Carroll County High School 🏫 continues to pursue her education while remaining dedicated in the Gymnasium as well !

Thank You Ma’am, for representing us with grace and commitment πŸ™Œ

Today, our Coach who wears like 10 Hats πŸ‘’ made me Smile because he took the bubble wrap off our Brand New High Jump Pit !!!! Look what WE Did moment for sure !!!

Our strength πŸ’ͺ is in the Numbers and its time to say Ata Boy to the folks that teamed up to make this happen.

Turning back the Clock ⏰ to Saturday, February 14th when Anthony Barnes took our Cavaliers over to Floyd County to face the Buffalo πŸƒ

End of the 1st quarter : Floyd County 19-10.

Colton Gravley 3, Landon Kinder 2, Isaiah Easter 2,  Will Motley 2, Trace Reavis 1.

Why now ? Hanging chads mess with my Brain 🧠 and this game took place at a time where we played what felt like 117 games in just a few days.

Yes, the game didn’t go our way but we played, fans traveled over and ate Concession stand food so we should acknowledge the effort of players and families, alike !

Floyd County calls πŸ“ž a TO at 2:20 remaining in the 1st half. We trail 31-18 with Easter and Motley leading the Cavs with six points..

We have reached the Half, Floyd County 40, Carroll County 20.

Carroll County 10Β  10 (20) 18 (38) 6-   44

Floyd County.Β Β  19Β  21 (40) 24 (64) 12 – 76

We will stick a πŸ“ŒπŸ“ in this for now as its time to take the second hike πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈ of the Day!

Okay, two hikes πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈ and an uplifting movie πŸŽ₯ break….

3rd quarter goes 24 – 17 in favor of Floyd County, score now 64 – 37.

Easter 6 in 3rd, Motley 3, Reed 2, Gravley 2, Bunn 2, Kinder 1.

Headed to fourth now….

Floyd takes the 4th, 12 – 7

Our seven belonged to – Easter with 5, Landon Phillips with 1 and the other point was added in between the third and fourth quarter ?????

We ended the 3rd with 37 and started the 4th with 38. There was no mention of the Mystery point ???????

Math problem solved, the scoreboard was off by 1 point after 3rd and they corrected it !!!

Carroll County (44) – Easter 19, Motley 9, Gravley 7, Kinder 3, Reed 2, Bunn 2, Reavis 1, Phillips 1, Lark.

From here I will send it to Coach and a few Parents who are sad the season is over.
