Carroll County High School graduate πŸŽ“ Britt Berrier has a HUGE day ahead of him on Tuesday, going from The Hill to The Grounds for an All-Star 🌟 Baseball game!

Britt Berrier is set to wear the Carroll County High School colors one final time as the recent Graduate has been selected to represent Head Coach Casey Burcham’s program one final time. The game itself will begin at 6:00 pm on The Grounds at the University of Virginia.

Getting selected to any All-Star game is an honor but this one tops the charts because players were chosen from all Six classifications in the Commonwealth.

Virginia Baseball Coaches Association (VBCA) is an up and coming group designed to give a voice to Coaches across the Old Dominion, regardless of the size of their school. The annual Showcase Day is the centerpiece of their efforts.

Berrier will be representing the West squad after being a team leader across four seasons, while playing for both Kevin DeHaven and Burcham. The 2024-2025 team, the first under Burcham, set a school record for wins and Berrier became just the third Cavalier to reach the 100 Base Hit Club earlier this season.

Berrier was also voted as the Baseball Athlete of the Year in the Best of Preps Awards for the extended area that includes five Counties and two States. This came in addition to being named the Three Rivers District Player of the Year.

The ultimate goal for any sports teams at Carroll County High School is to move the needle in regards to the level of visibility for the program. Having Berrier selected to play in a game of this magnitude is yet another step πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈdown the Yellow Brick Road for the Cavalier Baseball program.

For 26 Laps we watched our Logo zoom around the Race 🏁 Track at Franklin County Speedway….

Rising Carroll High School Sophomore Dakota Walls was on the leader board in race eight of nine Saturday night πŸŒ™ as the drivers neared the halfway mark of the 60 lap dash. Sadly, something on the car malfunctioned and his night ended sooner than we all would have liked it to.

Walls qualified third, dropped back to sixth and then worked his way back to fifth place. With the fourth place car πŸš— in his sights, fluid started pouring from the automobile and the night was over.

While our Logo has found its way onto a number of things, nothing matches the adrenaline that comes from watching πŸ‘€ it zoom around the Short Track under the lights.

When we find out what fluid was coming out of the car, I will sneak back and add it to the bottom. The race 🏁 ended at 9:53 pm for the rest of the field but unfortunately a bit early for our Dakota Walls Racing team.

Valley Sports Radio πŸ“» is another example of what can be created if one is able to build the correct team in a Community.

Β  Roughly 20 years or so ago I teamed up with Craig a couple of times to announce State Championship games with him. Buffalo πŸƒ Gap football and Luray Baseball ⚾️ if memory serves me. Gap won πŸ† that year while Luray fell in the State Semi-final.

On a fluke we ended up in the same Press Box πŸ“¦ again last week at Alan F Knight Field at Page County High School. I was there announcing the game for longtime friend Alan Knight and Craig was there doing the radio broadcast. It was great to cross paths with Craig again and awesome to hear him doing was he does really, really well!

Check out the sponsors and the variety of events that are available. Everything that I had hoped to accomplish here is something that I had previously witnessed. Craig and his team is just another example – an excellent example!
