Going inside the numbers and why said numbers are so very relevant to our efforts !

May had 31 days and 11,218 reads so quick math says 360 reads per day.

The site here is the only place where I have control over the message and why the message is the reason why its here.

Starting with Allen Worrell and The Carroll News. I love the fact that Allen and I have built the relationship between us that we have, but at the end of the day I don’t have any say about what actually goes into the Newspaper each week. At the end of the day, I am not on the staff of the paper. Some of my favorite writes โœ this past year were the ones on the Junior Varsity Boys Basketball team. When you can write about something that is not headed towards the paper, its much more fun / less grown up.

The next place that I am not on staff is at Cavalier Park. Fortunately for me, Coach Nester and I have been chasing the same vision โž• I get to hang out with Kevin Burress. No actual job / name, just that Guy.

Place #3 where I spend a decent amount of time, especially this past Spring, is the Soccer โšฝ๏ธ Pitch. No actual position there either but fortunately they need and appreciate the assistance.

Place #4 is when I’m hanging out with Vickey Ritchie and our Special Olympics Basketball team. Its fun to watch Vickey try to explain my role in the process to people that are meeting me for the first time.

Place #5 is the office ๐Ÿข of Mr. Kevin DeHaven, our Athletic Director. I created an unofficial title one day, saying that I am the Volunteer ๐Ÿ™‹โ€โ™€๏ธAssistant to the office of the Athletic Director. Lots of hours logged without any benefits other than I’m helping out someone who I have a great deal of respect for and he plays a tremendous role in our programs.

That brings us back to the site and the Banquets, its the only two places that I’m actually in complete control of my narrative. This is why the numbers matter as much as the do !

Think Nice, Write โœ Nice and you will find it easier to be Nice !

Where does the road end for Carroll County High School rising Sophomore Dakota Walls in regards to his Racing career ? Here’s a great take on an actual F1 Driver that just now graduated ๐ŸŽ“ High School in Italy ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น…

The coolest part of being involved with Dakota Walls Racing ๐ŸŽ is that the sky is the limit in regards to the future. There is no crystal ball here, just a Cavalier Student chasing a dream alongside his Father, CCHS graduate, Eddie Walls.

Maybe it ends on a local short track or one day we might see Dakota racing on Television ๐Ÿ“บ. Either way, its a pretty neat process to play a small role in !

While both Alan Knight and Rick Nester had a great day on Saturday June 13th, the Nester family ๐Ÿ‘ช had another reason for remembering that Day !

Coach Nester and Coach Knight

Another layer to the story, ” Diamonds ๐Ÿ’Ž are a Girls Best Friend ” comes in the form of there being a Wedding ๐Ÿ’’ taking place later in the day back in Carroll County. The Nester family and the Goins family were set to become one large family ๐Ÿ‘ช that evening.

Adam and Kayla just celebrated their 10th anniversary and are the proud parents of three beautiful children. Both parents are involved with Coaching on The Hill and Adam just finished winning his initial Three Rivers District crown ๐Ÿ‘‘ with his Junior Varsity Baseball team.

Kayla Nester is about to add Volleyball to her responsibilities with Basketball and we need to mention that little Sister, Raylee Goins is a current member of the Lady Cavaliers Softball program.

Part of the story has to be the time from the final out was recorded until Adam & Kayla said I do as Coach Nester worked his way back home in time for the ceremony.

Where are they now, ten years later, will be included with anyone who is interested in joining the conversation.

Nancy Sorrels while once again be involved with the book ๐Ÿ“– making process and this is exciting news for us. Her group up in Raphine were an absolute delight to work with. This will be the fourth time that we have taken a story from a High School and expanded it but its the first time that it will involve two Schools in the same story.

The first three efforts

Page County High School captured its seventh State Championship game that day in 2015, with six of them belonging to Coach Knight. Carroll County captured the first Crown ๐Ÿ‘‘ in the history of the School that opened back in 1969.

If you are just joining us on this project, we will spend the next few months gathering all of the information we can and then create a time-line that will walk people through the entire 40+ year relationship with the game of Softball.

Cool Hat that Big Daddy is wearing there alongside Coach Knight!
