Chasing Health, 1 Day at a Time !

Virginia 24, Radford 9 after the end of the first 10 minutes of action 🎬. It’s been a minute since I was last inside of JPJ and I’m thrilled to see 👀 that the building has aged well.

Duke, UVA & Where I stay has been my motto for my entire adult life and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.
The Grounds as the campus is called is special to me as the fifth of my five children, Rebecca graduated 🎓 here as a teenager. The bonus tonight is that Radford also falls under the umbrella 🌂 of being a local school.
The Ghost 👻 of Dawn Staley still hangs over the Wahoos Women’s Basketball 🏀 program. Staley came from the streets of Philadelphia and starred at UVA before the Olympics and WNBA yet wasn’t given the opportunity to Coach at her Alma Mater. Staley just captured her third National Championship at the University of South Carolina this past season.
UVA has tried a handful of Coaches since Deb Ryan retired at the end of her magnificent career and have yet to find the correct fit.

At the Half, its 45-23 after Radford connected from just inside half court but it was ruled after the horn. UVA is 1-1 this year after opening with a Win at home before falling by 44 points at #10 Oklahoma in their last outing.
Tonight is the opener of a four game home stand ahead of the teams trip over to Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 for a tournament. The Lady 👩 Cavaliers will need to sweep the home stand to shake off the effects of the Oklahoma setback.
UVA is easy to pull for across the board but the Women’s Basketball 🏀 team is still facing an uphill climb and will be throughout the 2024-2025 season. Tonight they have a nice crowd on both sides of the lower bowl of the still shiny Building !

Section #102 is going home with Free Papa John’s Pizza 🍕 !
End of the 3rd, Hoos 64-35 (19-12 for UVA).
Final Media TO – 73/39, QUESTION remains is will the Lady 👩 Cavaliers pull off the double up ?

1:24 left, 78-39, exactly double. Radford subs are struggling to stay competitive, 83-39. Highlanders bucket at 0:16.7 ends the run 🏃♂️

83-41 Final after 19-6 closeout quarter…

ODAC’s Bridgewater College is hosting Methodist in the ever so rare 5:00 pm Tipoff. Exit 240 is the 🏡 for the BC Eagles and soon to be the location of the latest Buckees !!!

End of the 1st, BC 14, Methodist 11 after the visitors connected from deep 3 times. D3 teams have no limits on rosters and Methodist dressed 20 players tonight.

BC is starting to pull away now, leading 20-11.

Nininger Hall is 🏡 to both the Volleyball 🏐 and Basketball 🏀 teams here for the Eagles. Back in the day it was a routine stop ✋ to catch Katie Baker of Strasburg High School play her College Volleyball 🏐.
Methodist University Monarchs are hanging around, showing no rust after a five hour bus ride.
BC 28-21, 1:52 (2)… Coach Alan Knight is taking in the contest as well along with a couple hundred other fans.

5:42 – Half-time…..15:00 on the Clock ⏰….
6:17 – End of 3rd, BC 50-34 (18-13)
6:30 -pm, BC up 63-39..
Media TO – 4:00, 65-41
Final Score 69-53…

Any list of must see Arenas of mine would include Cameron Hall at Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Virginia.

My life-long Love 💘 for all things Military might have a heavy influence on this fact but the Ceremonial part of the evening is worth the price of admission.

If I am residing on the East Coast during Hoops season then getting to a VMI home game is a must. Tonight they are hosting a tiny school 🏫 from Front Royal, Virginia called Christendom. The Crusaders campus is located just a few miles from our decade long Home Office 🏢.
Tonight we have a contest that involves Basketball 🏀, Religion and Our Military !!! A Trifecta of reasons to enjoy the next couple of hours.

Kansas – Michigan State and Duke – Kentucky 👀 highlight the national scene tonight on ESPN but for now they all take a back seat 💺 to the Keydets and the Crusaders because somethings just matter that much.
VMI 21-6 after 4 minutes ➕ has the place rocking already…..
The Crusaders only have 8 players in uniform tonight and VMI loves to push the tempo so it could get interesting…
Half-time Score – VMI 51, Christendom 25. Impressed by the efforts 👏 of the Crusaders unit….
7:38 pm…
Under 16 Timeout – VMI 62-37, Crusaders won 🏆 that segment, 12-11… playing against a full court press.
Under12: VMI 76-38 (16-1 run 🏃♂️)
Under 8 : VMI leads 83-47 @ 7:27, Crusaders win block 9-7.
Crusaders TO at 5:33, 88-50, 5-3 VMI
Final Media TO (3:12) – VMI leads 96-53, 8-3 run 🏃♂️…
