Are you excited? ‘Cause we sure are…

Greetings, ATV-ites!

We’re all feeling a whole lot of jittery excitement about our scrimmage against the Stuarts Draft Diamondbacks tomorrow. This is a great event for all Waynesboro fans for a few reasons…

  • It’s free. Yeah, that’s right. The charge for admission is (it’s an honor code thing – we won’t check for these things, we just assume you’re bringin’ them with you) a smile and some enthuasiasm.
  • The debut of one of those fancy signs we’ve been talkin’ up for the last few months. The over 6′ tall board that lists our starting line-up as well as the visiting starting line-up makes it’s first appearance at Fishburne Military SchoolĀ Park at Kate Collins Field.
  • We’re making history! This is the first time the Waynesboro Generals and the Stuarts Draft Diamondbacks have held a baseball contest. Ever. The next few days are all about historic firsts (see Friday, June 5, game vs. Rockbridge Rapids).
  • Do I really need to say it?Ā It’s Waynesboro Generals baseball! Come out for your first glance atĀ the 2009 Waynesboro Generals.

The festivities kick off at 4:30PM with Meet the Generals and the first pitch should be thrown at 7:00PM. We hope to see you out at the field tomorrow!

The Players are Here! The Players are Here!

Yesterday was arguably the most exciting day we’ve had in the process thusfar – the players and the host families met, the coaches and the players were introduced, we had some great food and the first pitches were thrown. And it was a beautiful day. What more could you ask for? We took plenty of pictures of the event just in case you couldn’t stop by. Enjoy!

Note about the pictures: We’re going to throw them all up before we get a chance to make ’em fancy (a.k.a. add captions and whatnot) so be patient with us – there are a lot of pictures!

Welcome to the ‘Boro ! Generals set to report today.

Ā Ā Ā Ā  The last five months have been an interestingĀ  journey here in Generals -ville but today is the day we pick it up a notch as our baseball players invade Kate Collins at 5:00 P.M.
