More Rain – Are you serious ? Generals Baseball Camps pushed back 1 week / Tonight’s Game in Question

The Generals baseball camp set to begin today has been pushed back 1 week in hopes of finding dryer weather for the 3-day gathering. The new dates are now Wednesday June 24TH thru Friday June 26TH with Fishburne Military School Park @ Kate Collins Field being the site.

The latest storm to roll thru Augusta County now has put the status of tonight’s game at “The Fish” in doubt. Covington is slated to make the drive Northeast for the first time but now we have to play a game of wait & see.

6 Late Runs = 6 straight Wins for Team Waynesboro!

We were trailing 7-2 in the top of the 7TH inning last night at Rockbridge and it appeared our five game winning streak was about to come to a crashing halt. Our Head Coach Andy Chalot kept the Generals focused and by the time the dust settled we had rallied for a thrilling 8-7 victory.

A victory that moved the team to 7-2 overall and pushed the winning streak to a VBL high 6 games. One run in the 7TH, three runs in the 8TH and then two more in the ninth gave Waynesboro an 8-7 lead and then Chalot turned it over to Mr. Automatic-closer Chris Enurato. Three strike outs later and the WVU righty had posted his five save in five tries on the season.

Waynesboro returns to “The Fish” tonight for a 7:00 P.M. start aginst Southern Division rival Covington, weather permitting.
