The SJHS Running Generals hosted their 12th Annual Invitational on Saturday October 3rd. The Generals opened the day in honor of Brest Cancer Awareness sporting their Neon Pink Shoe Laces which will be worn the whole month of October.
The Ladies ran the first race of the day chasing away the morning fog. Leading the way was Medalist Amber Campbell who placed 41st overall and 14th in the Gray Division. Rounding out the team were Mandy Miller 57th overall 21th Gray, Estafonia Resndez-Garcia 65th/29th, Ashley Eickenhorst 66th/30th, Bethany Sager 71st/34th, Kayleigh Roy 73rd/35th & Kaitlyn Bergen 80th/40th. The Ladies were 11th out of 18 teams overall and 5th in the Gray Division. In the Developmental division Dana Scruggs 8th, Callie Gibson 16th & Leslie Barb 20th all medaled respectively in the Gray Division.
In the Men’s race the Generals were led by Brynton Kolb’s 28th overall finish and 7th in the Gray Division, followed by medalist Donnie Sobanko 35th overall/10th Gray, Brandon Jones 39th overall/12th Gray, Caleb Golladay 54th overall/20th Gray. Rounding out the Varsity team for the day were Tommy Lear, Jared Lohr & Tyler Rogers who lead the team to a 7th place overall out of 17 teams and 3rd in the Gray division. Surprises for the day were medalist JB Plewa 7th & Will Sterner 17th in the developmental Gray division.
The Running Generals return to action on Thursday October 8th @ Riverheads High School @ 5:00 pm.
