Head Coach Suzanne Mathias and her Rams are hosting James Wood in a softball double header beginning at 5:00. Right next door will be the finals of the Strasburg Hard Ball Tourney between Buffalo Gap & Jeff Smoot’s home standing Rams.

      Strasburg captures the Ram Hard Ball title and there will be plenty of pics up later today of both Strasburg & Buffalo Gap…

After going 0-2 at Draft and Wilson, we went in search of our good buddy Jim Sacco over at the News Virginian. We love talking sports with Jim but our mark stood at 0-3 after we couldn’t find Jim either. We received an inside tip that he was moonlighting around the corner so we grabbed the camera and went searching for him.

 In the reporting business you have to be sure so we called out to Jim for verification . The next pic shows him singing and dancing in joy so maybe we had found our guy!

 On a serious note we did head back to the newspaper and found Mr. Rob Sisk at his desk and managed to talk Generals baseball with him for an hour or so. Always a treat to visit with Mr. Sisk and look forward to reading the paper tomorrow.

So I’m sure you all are thinking – “okay, you switched from Blogger to WordPress. But what’s the difference?” So here is a post listing just a few of the cool, new features that this WordPress blog offers.

Pages. You’ll notice along the top of the site that there are tabs for different pages (i.e. About Us, Share Your Stories, and ATV Wall of Fame.) This allows the blog to have a more streamlined, organized appearance and allows us to put a lot more permanent content up.

Snapshots. When your mouse is hovering over a link, a little box pops up that gives you a little snapshot of the web page the link takes you to. I think that is really neat!

Search feature. Okay so this might not be a “new” feature but it’s certainly a more easily recognizable one. While the Blogger page did have a search box along the top of the page, I know I didn’t instantly recognize it as an inner-blog search (e.g. if I wanted to check out only posts about Stonewall Jackson Baseball I could type that into the search field and only posts where the words Stonewall, Jackson and Baseball appeared would be brought up.)

Different authors. Okay so maybe Blogger had this, I’m not sure and, well, I’m too lazy to check but we can have any number of administrators and all that so I can have a log-in and dad can have a log-in.

Easier Editing. On our end, the site is genearlly easier to edit and personalize. Look forward to more fun additions to the site!

Also, I think this page is a lot prettier. But maybe I’m biased.

…on our shiny, new blog! We’ve switched over to wordpress.com instead of Blogger because of all the widgets and doodads this new blog has. We won’t be switching over the archives, though, so just in case you want to check out the older posts, we’ll keep a link in the upper right hand corner of this page.

Keep your hard hats on for a bit, though, because this page will be under construction for a little while.
