In Laurel Fork, we all answer to Kris Richardson, so we had to wait for Coach Nester to hop off Kris’s mower to get in our Five Good Minutes ⏰️ with our Coach! Follow up on the 20-2 victory

It was a good run 🏃‍♂️ on the treadmill, but we stopped ✋️to get this in..

Four topics of interest :

Ava Beamer – our youngest Lady Cavalier, made her very first appearance at the plate 🍽 as a pinch hitter for Brooke Webb. Webb continued to play left field, but Beamer stepped into the batters box 📦 for her first two plate appearances on Varsity.

Showing no fear, Beamer stroked a single and later coaxed a base on balls. Batting average of 1.000 and on base % of the same !

Welcome 🙏 to the Show, young Lady !

Fun Fact #2 – Madison Coleman had a 👻 spooky moment  in right field when the Senior appeared to lose a line drive 🚗 in the lights. Fortunately, for all involved the ball dropped harmlessly to the ground, and Gabby’s Kiddo was unharmed!

Fun Fact #3 – the old saying that sometimes you are the windshield and others you are the bug 🐛 comes to mind when Coach described the two at bats for Laynie-Jo Leonard. On the first one, Leonard sent a rocket 🚀 towards the fence, but it happened to find an outfield glove.

The next time up, the ball hit back, and Leonard was awarded first base on the HBP.

Fun Fact #4 – ” Addie was in complete control last night in regards to the count. The difference between them having to guess at what is coming at them versus just sitting on a fastball is hard to explain. She did a great job getting ahead in the count, start to finish !

Rick has grass to mow, and the treadmill is waiting. But as the late, great Paul Harvey would say – ” Now you know the rest of the story “
