The Long Drive πŸš— back to The Hill is taking place for many of us right now and its terrific to see πŸ‘€ how many are checking back in, even after a mixed bag of results !

Dakota and his race 🏁 team from Sophia, Jon Delp from Emory and Henry, Vickey Ritchie from Lexington and Kristy Jones from Virginia Beach ⛱️ βž•οΈ Lin and I from Sophia and mentally by way of Portsmouth, Ohio.

I’m not sure that any of us had the exact day that we had hoped for, yet each of us still had a story to tell.

We live in a society where many people are willing to judge the value of an experience by whether or not you won the prize. Nobody in this group won πŸ† a prize today but still had a story they wanted to tell.

While Adrienne Harris McGuire might not have had to drive back from out of town tonight but she still shared a story about her kiddos losing a match 1-0 on Friday night in a heartbreaking manor.

Everyone is interested in talking when they were on the winning side of the scoreboard, but not as much when it doesn’t.

Today, the college baseball ⚾️ team that I’m partly responsible for played a game that we lost 16-2 after the home team broke a 2-2 tie with 14 unanswered runs. Wow, would that have been an easy one to just glaze over.

Rough bottom of the fifth inning derailed our Golden Bears 🐻 but we will lace them up again tomorrow !

Still proud of the hard working Student Athletes who wear our colors, even when it’s not our day.

Nobody else lost 16-2, but others faced challenges, and they still are proud of the folks they believe in. Their stories will follow…
