Marcus defied the odds on Sunday, returning from the inactive list and earning a “W” for the Yankees !
Stroman will be hard pressed to regain his old form but a Win is a Win. Little Brother was on his way to Duke but will end up in Hooville instead after the coaching change.
You posed the question βWhen Donna said I do at her wedding to Rick Nester, I wonder if she knew the adventure to come?β The answer,
βI certainly did not!β I did know that I was one lucky lady, and I had definitely found the perfect guy for me! Adventureβ¦absolutely! The 2015 softball season was an adventure for sure, especially when you add in the wedding of Adam and Kayla on the same day as the state championship game. We knew the 2015 team had the potential but in January-before the softball season even began-who would have thought that a June wedding would pose a conflict with softball? As the games of that magical season rolled by and the victories mounted, I began to get a little stressed at the possibility of a same day state championship game and a special wedding.
The excitement for both continued to grow and the closer we came to June the more people were asking, βHow are you going to do both?β I wasnβt willing to miss either one! Thankfully, the game was scheduled for 10:00 am and the wedding for 5:00 pm. Of course, softball was in Lynchburg and the wedding was in Cana! I said, βIf weβre not back by 5:00, theyβll just have to wait on us!β I felt everyone would understand. As it turned out, we had two victories that day! We probably would have celebrated a little longer at the ball field but didnβt want to be late for the wedding. An added adventure for the day was a plane ride with Ricky Thomas to get us back home and to the wedding as quickly as possible. We arrived with some time to spare and the wedding was beautiful! What an awesome day! I donβt recommend purposely scheduling two major events in one day, but for us it was magical from beginning to end!
As we close in on July 1st, when we change the banner on this site and we make it 100% Carroll County, Virginia, there’s time to share a true OneofUs.Care moment that was made possible by Mr Douglas Owens.
After a somewhat serious health scare on a recent morning π back in Laurel Fork, the idea of enjoying a 2100 miles drive π started to dim. With that said, being without our Car was going to create certain challenges as well.
The driving force behind OneofUs.Care is to encourage people to create Kindness by doing for others, as often as possible π. Douglas made his way out to Laurel Fork and jumped into our little Chevy Trax and drove it across the Country for us.
Β The fact that its a Trax is relevant because it wasn’t like there was a high end German Sports Car that was begging to be driven.
Check out how close the heard of Buffalo π are to the Highway!

There are more photos π· on the Saturday post π« as today is about showing gratitude π for a random Act of Kindness from Mr Douglas Owens!!
Great step πΆββοΈ Day!
Tuesday morning will be the official makeover day for the site and this story is an example of one that would appear on a different spot because it doesn’t fall under the heading of a Carroll County event.
Today will be spent in the desert π town of Mesquite, Nevada where its forecasted to reach 110Β° but thankfully we have that whole dry heat thing going on.
Thank You Douglas and here’s π hoping everyone has themselves a Blessed Day !!
