Overall, we had an awesome season finishing 10-6-2! We are only the 5th team in school history to reach double digit wins!! We also set another school record for shutouts in a season with 9! We were very well represented on the All Three Rivers District teams and the All Region 3D.

______________________________________

Last night we had our end of the year banquet for the 2025 Soccer Season! We had 5 earn team awards on varsity.
Cavalier Award – Ahliyah Riffey
This award goes to a player who is always giving 100% in games no matter the score and in practice. This player is also a great team leader and is always willing to do what is best for the team. Ahliyah finished the season with 2 goals and 3 assists!!
Most Improved Player – Laurel Sutphin
Laurel had never played soccer until her sophomore year of high school. She has grown so much over her 3 years with the varsity team. Her first year she didnβt play a lot but she never gave up and continued to grow. This season she was a very important piece of our back line and one of our captains!! Laurel has awesome work ethic and leadership!!
Best Offensive Player- Callie Harris
This season Callie led the team in goals and assists. She scored 16 goals on the year and had 8 assists! For the first half of the season Callie was 88% of our offense having a hand in 14 out of the 17 goals that were scored in the first 8 games. Overall for the season Callie was 71% of our offense whether it was scoring or setting up a goal for another player. Callie was a very important offensive piece for us this year in the midfield!
Best Defensive Player – Alexis Sheffey
Alexis had a huge season this year with 9 shutouts on the year which is a school record!!! In the 4th game of the season at Glenvar Alexis got hurt but kept playing. She ended up playing with a broken finger for the next 14 games of the season but she didnβt go to the doctor until after season was over because she didnβt want to miss any games. Even with playing with this injury which as a goalie is a big one due to how much she has to use her hands she still put up huge numbers on the year. She had 217 saves on the season and averaged around 12 saves per game.
Most Valuable Player – Karmen Smith
Our MVP for the season was one of our senior captains! Karmen went above and beyond for the team all year. She has been a very solid center back for us all 4 years she has played on Varsity. She has an awesome soccer IQ and reads the game so well. She was also a great leader for our team. Even though Karmen was on the back line she was still one of our top performers offensively. For the season Karmen was a part of 40% of our offense from the center back position. She finished the year with 3 goals and 7 assists!

Other Thoughts :
We scored 34 goals on the year and 26 of those were assisted! 76% of our goals on the year was assisted directly from one of our players feet!
Regional honors π :
2nd Team All Region 3D
(Goalie) Alexis Sheffey
– First goalie to receive all region honors since 2002!!
(Midfielder) Callie Harris
(Defender) Karmen Smith
The region part that it is huge for this team to get 3 players on all region!! We are in a very stacked and strong region along with a lot of strong Roanoke schools.
Proof coming in the fact that William Byrd finished up in the State Tournament after being a #7 seed and #1 Cave Spring is in the Final Four.
