Duke University advances to the Super Regionals for the fourth time in School history and later today Carroll County High School finally gets to begin their postseason Baseball⚾️ run 🏃‍♂️…6pm tonight at Bill Worrell Field.

May 22nd was the last time that Head Coach Casey Burcham led his Cavaliers during a baseball ⚾️ game. Eleven days off in football is called a bye week but eleven days off in between games in baseball is an eternity.

Cave Spring High School defeated host Lord Botetourt 10-0 on Saturday afternoon and the #10 seeded Knights will look to take that MOJO into tonight’s game versus the #2 Cavaliers.

Waiting in the wings is another Roanoke area school, #3 Northside. The Vikings were able to get their quarter-final game played and now will have the chance to scout the game tonight on The Hill.

None of the added obstacles are Hurdles that cannot be cleared by the Burcham Bunch. Carroll County Baseball is in the midst of a season for the ages at 19-1 and they simply need to do all of the things that they have been doing from the get go.

The scheduled date for the all-important Semifinals is Tuesday night, as in tomorrow night. We will have to wait and see if the weather or the powers to be alter this but with the need to play the Regional finals on Friday night, there’s little to no wiggle room.

The Knights and Vikings are all that stands between Carroll County High School and back to back trips to the State Tournament. Anthony Barnes and his Basketball 🏀 Cavaliers rode the wave of a Senior laden group to the High School 🏫 Promise Land over the winter and now Burcham is within just over 36 hours of possibly doing the same.
