We have another official Table for March 2nd and its called The Kool 😎 Kids  Table

They duo of Allen Worrell and Plucky Sidekick allowed me in the office 🏒 today for over two hours ! New record for me down there and it was partly because of their joy for landing their seats πŸ’Ί at what we are calling the Kool Kids Table.

We have Greg Bolen, West Long, Allen Worrell and Plucky Sidekick βž• their Brides πŸ‘° sitting together ! Officer Bolen will be in charge of discipline with this group….

Just 12 more days…..

Tuesday Morning πŸŒ„ mailbox πŸ“¬ includes a sad Goodbye, Media Day at Emory and Henry, No Golden Bears Baseball yet again and JV Boys Basketball πŸ’™ say Goodbye tonight as Cartoon Characters !

Linda is now on her way to Chicago and then on to El Paso, Texas and St.Louis, Missouri before returning home the night before our Banquet. After 40 years I appreciate πŸ™ the fact that I began to miss her before she was gone.

The reason for it being ROA this morning for her flight ✈️ was the next stop was to be Beckley for our midweek Baseball ⚾️ game versus Kentucky Christian ✝️ University.

” Game with Kentucky Christian is postponed-will be made up at a later date…
β€’weekend games with Point Park & Bluefield St. are being evaluated. Updated information will be available on Wednesday”

We are now 0 for 5 in regards to our home games being played as originally planned but that’s life in the NAIA.

Emory & Henry Women’s LaCrosse held their Media Day and here are the pics from our Natalie Harris. Incredibly impressed by the fact the Marion and Sheila’s Middle Kiddo (Jan Brady) went out and taught herself the sport this year and is now playing Division 2 in the NCAA for the Wasps!

To make it even more fun, I invite any Parent who wants to tell me which Cartoon Character that their Son reminds them of, please do so. The first 24 hours after my treatment on my legs 🦡is the toughest so I will be easy to spot as I hobble around with my cane.

The Road Runner, Pink Panther, Daffy Duck, Buggs Bunny 🐰, Spider-Man, Fred Flintstone, George Jetson are some of the older ones that come to mind.

Once the Junior Varsity game is completed, we hope everyone will stick around and cheer on the Varsity team. It’s my understanding that they’re doing okay this year as well. Probably has something to do with Stockner helping Coach them after his game……

Quick recap – Yes to Airport Goodbyes, No to College Baseball, Yes to Natalie Harris being cool, Big YES to Sophomore Night and I guess to Varsity Boys Basketball 😴.

Congratulations πŸ‘ to Anthony Barnes and Kris Richardson for running πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ it back as the Cool 😎 Kids say, by winning a second straight Three Rivers District Championship !!!

Carroll County pushes Christiansburg to the horn before falling 57-51.

Christiansburg –Β  Carroll County High School closed out its Non-District Girls Basketball schedule Monday night at CHS and played their hosts to the final buzzer before falling 57 – 51.

The Lady Cavaliers still have a game scheduled for Thursday night on The Hill versus Radford but the two dreaded words, weather permitting hang next to the tilt with the Bobcats. Thursday night is the official back end date for regular season games so if the coming storm erases the game it will fall from the schedule.

Carroll County played at a peak level throughout the contest and lead both at the end of the first quarter and late in the third before Katy Hoover and Mia Robinson made sure the home fans would go home happy. The duo combined for 38 points with Hoover accounting for a game high 24 points.

” If we could have done a little better at the free throw line tonight we just might have pulled this one out,” said Head Coach Howard Mayo. ” But I love the fact that each time we fell behind we were able to stick to our game plan.”

The Lady Cavaliers finished up just 6 of 16 at the foul line for 37.5% but aside from one rough stretch with turnovers late in the second quarter, CCHS played a strong game.

Carroll County led 20-14 after Callie Harris (12 points) kickstarted the offense with 6 pts and 4 assists early. Hoover netted 13 of her points in the second quarter and the Blue Demons closed out the half on a 15-4 run to lead 29-24 at the break.

During the season this would have proven to be the beginning of the end but Carroll County answered back with a 6-0 run to take the lead back at 30-29.

Raylee Goins added five of her 12 points during the stretch and the deficit was down to four heading into the final 8:00 minutes at 41-37.

The second bump in the road came in the form of a 14-5 run for the home team to push the lead out to 55-44. Once again the Lady Cavaliers regained their composure to close out the game on a 7-2 run πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ, capped by a 3-pointer from CC Mitchell to end the game.

Mitchell finished up the contest with a season high 13 points, giving the team a trio of double figure scorers for the second straight game.

Kenzey McMillian added seven points and Madison Coleman finished with four points to go along with two from Kenzie Young and one from Natalie Burress.

The team was without two players as Faith Clontz is recovering from surgery and Laynie-Jo Leonard continues to battle health issues.

The team continues to work hard and show improvement for Coach Mayo.

” We continue to grow as a Basketball team,” added Mayo. ” As a coach, that’s what you ask of your players and we are moving forward.”

Hopefully the Varsity team will have one more opportunity to play in front of the home fans on Thursday night.

The Junior Varsity team will not have that luxury as Radford has canceled the remainder of its JV season. The game Monday night was their season finale and the team could not dig out of an early hole, falling 47-17.
