Ferrum traveled tonight up to Lexington for a match with the always tough Washington and Lee. The Panthers came out on the short end (3-0) of the scoreboard but that’s not uncommon for visitors that enter the Generals Den.
We want to fast forward 🙏 just a moment to October 30th. Eastern Mennonite University is making the trek down from Harrisonburg to face the Lady Panthers.
This means we will have a former Cavalier on both teams and while I am not going to guess on the number of times this has taken place over the past 50+ years, I will guess that’s in single digits.
Both Coach Edwards and I are planning to attend the match that night 🌙 and are question is this – who else reading this would be interested in joining the Party 🥳. I think its a Big Deal and Coach agrees but neither of us know where the interest goes beyond us.
Feel free to let either of us know if you would be interested in joining us for a night of Lady Cavalier versus Lady Cavalier….
Thank You to the Bunn family 👪 for the update tonight !
Of course Eddie Walls knows what his Son accomplished this weekend because he was standing there with him after Dakota Walls finished 3rd in his latest race 🏁 and 3rd gets you a spot on the Podium ➕ a few words with a highly entertaining gentleman holding a 🎤🎙🎤.
I have only had the pleasure of hanging out with the Walls family 👪 one time in person but it made a lasting impression on me.
We signed on to be one of the Car sponsors this season and have been able to make it to the Franklin County Speedway a couple of times to watch the Carroll County High School Freshman zip around the oval track.
This weekend included races 🏁 in two places on consecutive days and the results were the best of the season.
Eddie Walls has presented his Son with a business opportunity and Dakota has run with it. You never know how a story is going to play out but this has been a fun one to be a part off !
It’s my understanding that Dakota will race three more times this season and we will do our best to keep up with their efforts. But for now, Congratulations 👏 on making it to the Podium Young Man 👨.
The weather outside will almost certainly remove the 2pm Golf ⛳ match from today’s schedule but we can add two College VB matches to the list of things to keep an eye 👁 on tonight.
Let’s start with Jason Petty and his Junior Varsity squad. The Lady Cavaliers return to The Hill after have spent all day Saturday over at Patrick County – Glade Springs (4 matches). The team earned their first victory of the season down there and played competitive sets and matches throughout the day.
5:30 pm is the time for First Serve for those of you that get off work in time to make it to the Gym by then.
Head Coach Cindy Edwards has her team sitting atop the Three Rivers District standings at 2-0 (4-3 overall). Alleghany came to town last week with a spotless 5-0 mark but left town at 0-1, 5-1. Then the team traveled up to Glenvar for a 5 set victory after falling behind 0-2.
Tonight both teams will face the Knights of James River High School. Varsity will take the floor roughly 25 minutes after the conclusion of the JV match.
Both Eastern Mennonite University and Ferrum VB teams are also in action 🎬 tonight.
Madison Stockner and friends will be home tonight, hosting Hollins at 7pm.
Kalee Bunn and her Ferrum teammates have an interesting week ahead of them. The Panthers are Set (Volleyball 🏐 term) to play three matches in three different parts of the State this week.
Lexington, Richmond area and finally to the Beach ⛱ before returning home. Safe bet that the team will return to School 🏫 after tonight but it promises to be a hectic week just the same.
Hopefully our Ladies will play in front of a nice crowd tonight, folks can come in out of the Rain 🌧 and watch some hard working Lady 👩 Cavaliers perform!
Who knows, you might just Dig it…(Volleyball 🏐 term)
