Come out and support our Lady π© Cavaliers Volleyball πβ€!

Volleyball π at Carroll County High School has one glaring similarity to so many other Sports that involve Cavaliers in that it has a prominent family πͺ.
Cindy Edwards has been at the helm of the program for 30+ seasons now and for nearly the last decade there has been Petty’s everywhere you look. This year will be no different except the fact that it could very well be the last for the family of four.
Jason Petty has returned for another year of being the Head Coach of the Junior Varsity team. This year they had 24 tryout and currently have 17 members on the roster.
Coach Petty had a very familiar face assisting him during tryouts, in Skyler Petty, the oldest of the couples two daughters. Skyler joined the players ranks back in 2016 as an 8th grader and has been a part of the program ever since.
Aza Petty is entering her Senior season now and will be leading an incredibly young team onto the court. The roster has 12 players but is very bottom heavy with the bulk of the players being underclassman.
Mama Petty is the glue that holds two families together. The first is her family and then there’s the Volleyball π family. Christina is her given name but if you look up the definition of Team Mom π© in Websters dictionary you just might see her face.
Right down to the bag of lolly pops she is known for carrying around the Gymnasium on game nights, both home and away. This year she will have an extended family member to keep an eye π on as Trenton Miller has joined the leadership team for the program.
Last years team was led by a group of Seniors who had one thing in common. Years of experience and Mad Hops graduated π in the likes of Alyssa Ervin, Madison Lyons and Company. This years team will focus on team defense, speed and agility to make its run πββοΈ at the top of the Three Rivers District standings.
One common denominator will be that the Petty’s will be everywhere from start to finish and there’s a good chance that it will be the Last Dance π for some or all of the Petty’s.
Things are set to get underway soon as both squads will be playing at home π‘ Tuesday night versus Rural Retreat High School.

The value of the Petty’s to Coach Edwards, in her words –
Jason and Christine Petty have been the best support you could ask for . Jason started helping with club when we started our club program helping Elen Sloss.
When she left, I asked Jason if he would do our Jv’s, and he agreed . I know that I couldn’t have done the things we’ve been albe to accomplish without him, and his family they have been vital to the success of this program.
At the beginning, his knowledge was limited he study read books and watched videos and went to a lot of college matches and watched Christine has been right there with us. From fundraising to providing food and just helping an way she could . Skyler play for this program and help coach club when she has been able to while going to school and is helping Jason this year when her schedule has allowed. I know I truly consider them my family and love them with all my heart.
The Petty’s will be missed, but Thankfully we still have this season !
