Four weeks from Today !!

Twenty years into hanging out with Head Coach Alan Knight as his self proclaimed PR Guy πŸ‘¦ I am over the Moon πŸŒ™ that we finally got the news ! Here’s our story that was part of the packet that lead to the VSHL Hall of Fame !

https://augustafreepress.com/news/alan-knight-the-high-school-coach-who-quietly-won-1000-games

Alan Knight has spent his entire adult life Coaching at Page County High School 🏫 and the past two decades being a part of our efforts with our Non-profit Organization.

Here in roughly eight weeks Coach will be heading over to Charlottesville to officially be placed in the Virginia State Highschool League (VHSL) Hall of Fame.

I wanted to take the time to publicly express my gratitude πŸ™ to each person that worked with me on getting the nomination packet put together. Chris Graham at the Augusta Free Press for being the first to run πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ with the story about our Skipper.

In no certain order, Rebecca McDowell, Eric Benson and Bill Meade. Each of you should be feeling the same amount of pride that I’m feeling tonight!

The process has given me a greater appreciation for the folks that are responsible for running the VHSL

Probably need to Thank Alan Knight for his forty βž• years Coaching Volleyball and Softball at PCHS.

Bill Meade, Alan Knight and Ralph Viafora.

Just a handful of photos πŸ“· from the past two decades that we have been at it. Proud as can be that our Coach is getting the Tip of the Old Ball Cap !

Quite the career and amazingly enough its still going !!!

Today we check βœ” in on Miss Lauren Alley @ UVA-WISE!

While Laiken Burnett has sown up the title of Carroll County High School Athlete I will ever cover, there’s two pretty special young Ladies that are tied for that honor amoung our Alums.

Kaylee Easter and Lauren Alley as both played two years of two Varsity sports each that we followed very closely. Both of these Ladies brought a mindset to the court and the diamond πŸ’Ž that left an impression!

Lauren signed to play softball at UVA-WISE, remaining a Cavalier. Today they play at Home 🏑, hosting Southern Wesleyan University.

The Great Erie Banks was famous for saying “Let’s Play 2 today ” and we are looking forward to catching up with our former third baseman !

The Cavaliers jump out to a 2-0 lead on a 2-run homer in the bottom of the first inning!

The wind has picked up a bit here, causing the temperature 🌑to drop but it hasn’t dampened the spirit in the Cavaliers dugout.

Cavs, 3-1 Top of 5thI

Cavs, 4-1 Top of 6th

Cavs, 4-2 Mid 6th….3rd out was a few feet short of being a 3-Run Homer. Entertaining Game.

Cavs 5-2, Top of 7th

Final, 5-2 (3:50)

Break between games now…

I’m no Velvet Leonard or Carlie Beamer but I try !
