The time-line for how Alyssa Ervin became the All-Time Leading Scorer in School History π«

Alyssa started the night needing 15 points to break the record. The game started at 5:30pm with 8:00 on the clock β°. Here is when she scored and how she scored the 16 points.


First basket π§Ί was on a drive π. She was fouled but missed the free throw.

78 seconds later she drove to the glass, made the bucket, was fouled and made the free throw !

Once again Alyssa took it to the rim, made the basket π§Ί, drew the foul and converted the free throw to lower the number to 7!

The next basket was by far the prettiest of the night π. Alyssa spun away from her defender and rolled the ball into the net.

Alyssa makes one of her game high nine steals and converts the lay-up just 8 seconds later !

This time it took 36 seconds for the next lay-up to take place. This lowered the number to just one !!!

With 1:23 remaining in the first quarter Alyssa crossed over the threshold and became the All-Time scoring leader for the School on The Hill. I sat there quietly and made by cards, held them up and soaked in the History that was happening before me !!!

Last one of the Night π as I will π΅ back to the Girls π§ JV again after a nap
I wanted to toss out what I believe would be a fun idea π‘ as a way to pay tribute to Alyssa Ervin through our Student section. 15 points is what is needed so if we have 15 pieces of poster board handy we could have some fun.
βI love the energy of the chanting and here’s how it would play out….
Poster Boards needed 15.
Written on them would be as boldly as possible – 14,13,12 11,10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1,00000!!!!
Give a sign to 15 different students and there will be math involved !!!
Ervin opens up with a 3-pointer and the person holding the sign for 12 holds it over their head and the group yells 12 and stomps their feet. We continue the process until we hit Zero.
βAlyssa is not done playing this season = she is going to raise the number to a point that it might not be broken again. That means this could very well be a piece of History that many of us will never witness again.
βLet’s trade out the You can’t Do That chant long enough to create a memory that could last a lifetime !
βAgain, math would be involved but no cost because I would happily buy the poster boards.
βThe problem is I have zero pull with our Student section but maybe someone reading this does ???
βA lot of things happen on a regular basis, like Davis Reitzel dunking a basketball π, Emma Leath striking out a batter, Corrie Delp running πββοΈ fast or Jabin Talley serving an Ace.
βBut what is going to happen tonight is the definition of One & Done. I will tag a few people when I share this in hopes of it landing in the right set of hands β.
Maybe the back up plan is to have adults participate instead. Again, Math is involved……
βA great way for us all to participate in a moment that I don’t think or feel will take place again on The Hill, at least not in my lifetime.
