Well Cavs fans it’s that time of year again to come and witness two of the best tennis players Carroll has seen . Jabin ( the baby face assassin) and Ethan ( the sniper ) Richardson are now ready to pick up the racquet for the last time together . Both as singles players and Also as region 3 d Runnerups . The dynamic duo finished with a 36-5 combined record that’s single and doubles victories. Jabin wen undefeated in district while Ethan was 11-1 . They finished the season 13-2 in doubles and a runnerup finish in the regionals Jabins schoolrecord of 50-20 combined Wins at no. 1 seed Will no doubt be even higher this year. Let’s cheer these 2 young athletes on to the state this year . Also returning will be Paul Marshall, Lewis Marshall, Maverick Baker , Garrison Wheatley And newcomer Cruise . First match will be announced shortly

First Day…
Stretching has begun led by none other than Coach Tobler
Infield and outfield work has begun.
Coach Nester had the total number of players in the mid-20’s today plus the ladles on the Varsity Basketball team that is still playing in the post season.
It’s exciting to see where the road takes us in the coming months !
The first thing you have to do is break up the ice 🧊 in the dugouts.
We are roughly 90 minutes from the scheduled first pitch and the only thing that we have going for us is its a turf field at this amazing facility.
My favorite part of the Stadium 🏟 here is that Mr. Epling filled the outer wall with Bible versus, something that can only happen when a structure is privately financed.
Our Golden Bears 🐻 compete in the NAIA, which exists in addition to the NCAA. Lawrence Nesselrodt and I have been at it since our days with the Waynesboro Generals of the Valley Baseball League ⚾️ and its an adventure at every stop ✋ along the way.
This weekend is a perfect example of “Let’s get the Games Played”. This set was originally a four game series scheduled for Friday & Saturday in Beckley. We have tweaked and twisted to the point where today is the last day we can try and get the games played. West Virginia Tech leads the series 1-0 after a walk off win on Sunday. The Sunday game was played up in Charleston at the Go Mart Stadium.

At the beginning of a week the idea 💡 is to see what’s happening 👀 and then building around those events to complete a game plan. This week it might have to happen the other way around
Today just got better as the Golden Bears 🐻 plated four runs in the bottom of the seventh to tie up today’s game at 4-4. This series started out as Friday-Saturday then moved to Saturday – Sunday double headers to let’s pray 🙏 we can get one in on Sunday and play two on Monday.
Monday is the crossover day for High School 🏫 Athletics. While many teams have been holding off season workouts, its time for the actual team tryouts to take place.
⚾️🧢(2), Softball(2) , Soccer ⚽️ (3), Track & Field (2) and Tennis 🎾 (2) are all ready to get started.
As you can see Carroll County High School does not compete in LaCrosse but we have all of the rest covered.
We want to offer encouragement to each student athlete trying out for each sport.
Monday will have me up in Beckley, West Virginia, announcing our (WVU-T) baseball ⚾️ double header.

Tuesday – It’s our hope to create the time for a photo-op with Velvet Leonard and Carlie Beamer ahead of the Varsity Basketball 🏀 games on The Hill. 5:30 & 7:00 are the tip times for the second day involving a pair of ball games. Both Varsity teams will be playing at home 🏡 and they will both be favored to the Regional Semi-final round but this is the post season, where nothing is guaranteed.
Alyssa Ervin is 25 points shy of 2,000.

Wednesday will be Day 3 of tryouts and many of the Coaches will be in decision making mode. Boys Soccer, Baseball and Softball each have a Junior Varsity team so for them it begins the separation window.
Wednesday – Back to Beckley for another Golden Bears 🐻 double header.

Thursday – The Carroll County High School Varsity Girls Basketball team is slated to play their Region Semi-final at 4pm up in Blacksburg at Virginia Tech. This game is dependent upon CCHS capturing its game on Tuesday night 🌙. A victory on Thursday night would advance the team to the State Tournament once again.
Noon – Another 📷 op, this time up at Cavalier Park with Rick Nester & Allen Worrell plus some special guests.
Night – After the game at VT it will be one final trip down to Tennessee for closure with the recent passing of one of my two older sisters.
MACC has a second match at 6pm

Friday : is set to start in Tennessee but end up in Blacksburg with the Boys playing a 7pm game in the Regional Semi-final. As is the case with the Girls 👧, a win and they are into the State Tournament !
This one would be a HUGE get for the Boys 👦!

Saturday – Fingers crossed we are back in Blacksburg with both the Boys and the Girls but we will have to wait and see how the week plays out for Coach Barnes and Coach Motley.
There’s also a Father / Daughter Dance 💃 through the FCA that evening.
