Today I had to be corrected by the Plucky Sidekick down on Main Street

I knew something was wrong when the call 📞 came in for me to report to the office 🏢 of the Carroll News earlier today.

David was the bearer of the scolding as it turns out that after mispelling Alan’s first name (correctly spelled Allen) for a year, I was also guilty of pronouncing his last name incorrectly. I had spent many a moon 🌙 watching Todd Worrell pitch for the St.Louis Cardinals and later the LA Dodgers. Todd’s last name was pronounced Wore-L in the midwest and West Coast so I assumed it was pronounced that way everywhere.

In a moment of weakness after David told me the correct way to say it was Whirl, I answered back no its not.

David had no choice but to take matters into his own hands. Thankfully he didn’t leave any visible markings…..

Of course that just a little Carroll News humor but know this, if I am not saying a name correctly PLEASE let me know. If no one tells me after the first time the situation won’t correct itself.

Same goes with a misspelling, there are a large number of names one goes through when they are trying hard to list every member of every team / organization.

 We welcome corrections !

One cannot just declare themselves the Champion of All Things Junior Varsity, sometimes you have to put forth effort !

Thursday night 🌙 on The Hill we will be hosting a triple header of Basketball 🏀 after three of our teams claimed their respective Three Rivers District Championship.

We know that the action starts at 5pm with the Junior Varsity Girls game and we are looking to create as much atmosphere for Head Coach Kayla Nester and her team as possible by the 5pm start time.

The group finished 17-4 and claimed the Top Spot in the league, allowing them to host the District Tourney Championship game.

In an effort to have fans sitting in their seats 💺 for the opening jump ball we have created a Door 🚪 Prize for the first 100 fans to enter the main door.

Bonus to the offer is that if you are from a visiting school 🏫 or just arriving early for the Varsity games, you can trade in your keepsake for a free bag 🎒 of popcorn 🍿 at the Concession Stand.

Credit to creating the work with me goes to Mr. Ron Cochran. Ron can also be identified as CC’s Grandfather. While the photo 📷 was my own I have to give credit to Velvet Leonard as she had the young ladies lined up for her own pictures 📷. I simply don’t get that photo otherwise.

Fans1-100 or until 4:55, whichever comes first. Parents of our players have no need to fret as two copies for each family have been set aside, one for the Parents and one for the Player.

We are very proud of this group of Student Athletes 👏 and we welcome you to joining us on Thursday!

About Thursday Night 🌙 and our Triple Header of Basketball 🏀 on The Hill. Getting there early affords you the opportunity to cheer on this group of young Ladies.

Thursday night, our version of Night of Champions, is going to be challenging for a number of reasons.

There will be six teams playing basketball inside of a five hour window. Different opponents means different fan bases coming and going but we have the simplest of solutions for you – show up early and watch the opening act !

Thursday will be the end of the road for our JV Girls 👧, win or lose. The growth this team has shown from start to finish has been amazing 👏 and now they get one more opportunity to play in front of their 🏡 fans on The Hill.

The team finished the regular season with a record of 17-4 and the Three Rivers District championship. Head Coach Kayla Nester earned her 100th career victory along the way. Kayla Young leads the offense and everyone plays end to end defense which leads to 28 minutes of High Energy.

Thursday night will be an event from start to finish as all three of our District 🏆🏆🏆 Champions will be on display. Five o’clock is a great time to be in your seats 💺 because you don’t want to miss the start of the show !

Let’s send off our Junior Varsity Girls 👧 in style !
