Wrestling Coach West Long checks in after the Regional meet !

” Tough day of wrestling yesterday, the athletes worked hard and unfortunately fell just short of their State Tournament goal. The competitions may be over but there is still work to be done!
“Always Forward, Never Outworked!”

Per the norm when we write ✍ about a team end we ask for everyone that put forth the effort so we can applaud πŸ‘ them for representing our School 🏫 and our Community.

Thank You for your time, energy and effort πŸ™ all season.

Coach Long has a vision for his program and he knows it will be an uphill climb. If you see Coach out and about Please offer him encouragement πŸ™ and if you see his Student Athletes on The Hill feel free to show appreciation for their efforts!

There was one more sincere Thank You πŸ™ to give from last week and Church β›ͺ service created the perfect opportunity !

Mr. Stephen Puckett is a Man of many talents, one of them is being the Pastor at Gospel Chapel out here in Laurel Fork. Another hat πŸ‘’ that he wears is being in charge of the Maintenance Department 🏬 of the Carroll County School system.

For the past week Steve has quietly run point on our project at Cavalier Park. While I was blessed to spend roughly 10-12 hours with five of his team members last week, I only saw πŸ‘€ Steve for a brief moment.

Thinking that he looked familiar to me but not sure why? Had to smile when I finally connected the dots and realized he was the same Man πŸ‘¨ that I had spent the last two Easter mornings with.

Mr. Puckett will forever be linked to one of our stories and for that I am grateful πŸ™!

Thank You Sir for your assistance, your sermon today and for everything that you stand for !

We know that we are hosting a Hoops Party πŸ₯³ on The Hill on Thursday night but there’s still questions about our Guest list.

On the Boys πŸ‘¦ Basketball side of things Floyd County and Alleghany went into yesterday tied for second place at 8-3. The two teams split their games and both had one game remaining versus Radford.

The Cougars took their turn with the Bobcats yesterday at 5pm in Radford and they held on for what had to be exciting 61-59 victory. AHS now sits 1/2 game ahead of Floyd County in the race for second place but the Buffaloes get their shot at the Bobcats Wednesday night. A Floyd County victory on Wednesday would create a tie πŸ‘” and with the head 2 head meetings being a draw, we would go to a tiebreaker system to determine the Cavaliers opponent for Thursday night πŸŒ™.

Alleghany High won’t know if they are playing here on Thursday until the end of a game on Wednesday night. Floyd County controls their fate a bit but they would be playing on consecutive nights ahead of their Region run.

A Valentines πŸ’ Day match-up

Stay tuned !
