Explaining the Bizarre process of the Last 21 Days

The one advantage that I have that others don’t is I can self-report to explain something. When you have your own space and there aren’t sponsors or corporate types to answer to its easier.

Three weeks ago my Wife and Best Friend πŸ’“ boarded a flight ✈️ out to Missouri, where her 85 year old Mother πŸ‘© lives. 21 Days alone creates all sorts of options to a Man, more golfing, more fishing 🎣 or maybe more time hanging out with their buddies.

I took another path and went head first into the things I believe πŸ™ in. With no one here to say ” Step away from the Cellphone or put down the Car keys” I have as they say, left everything I had on the playing field.

Lin flies back into Charlotte tomorrow night at 6:30. I think something else is happening at that exact same time……

This means I will slow 🐌 back down to simply an insane pace now.

There is a rather thin line between being Committed and needing to be Committed. I try my best to stay on the correct side of said line but today I was on the wrong side of it by a wide margin.

Friday included the following – 11am to 4pm with Coach Nester and the Maintenance team with the concrete pour.

Grab a quick bite to eat and then head into the Gym for the Basketball πŸ€ double header. Four hours later, after we swept Christiansburg High School 🏫 I headed back to Laurel Fork.

Once I got my Night πŸŒ™ Crew everything they needed I started to write ✍ stories. A great deal took place in the Gymnasium Friday night so there was more to share. The Junior Varsity was playing their final game of the season and that needed more attention βž• Davis Reitzel reaching 1,000 points & the crazy fourth quarter.

I finished my final Post πŸ“« at 6:00am, roughly 24 hours after my day started and at 6:02 I was fast asleep. No worries, as I had a blank day on the Calender in regards to Saturday (or so I thought).

Because my crew works the overnight shift I cannot mute my phone from 11pm to 7am, and we go 365 days a year.

At 6:55 am my phone πŸ“± made a noise and 53 minutes after falling asleep I realized that the Regional Wrestling Tournament was taking place today. Didn’t know where or when or what my name was at the time but for the next 60 minutes I tried to actually get out of bed πŸ›Œ.

Back up to last Spring when our 11 Sports teams played their final game I was there for 10 of them, to highlight it for them. So I headed out to the Car πŸš— and plugged Abingdon High School 🏫 into the GPS. I had barely started the drive up and over when Marion Harris sent me the announcement about the Chorus event.

Shannon Dalton gave me hope in the process πŸ™. She is the Real Deal and is so kind in her ways, because she is like 6.4 times smarter than me and often has to dumb down for me to keep up. I was ready to concede that I couldn’t find enough people who looked at Life and our Youth the way we do. Three βž• years had netted very little progress on the non-sports side of things. So much time was spent trying to get people to become aware of the site that it took away from actually making process.

Survived the Drive down and spent three βž• hours in the Gym at AHS, including some quality time with Mr. Ben Tickle. Did my very best to capture at least one photo πŸ“· of each of our Wrestlers before heading further down I-81 to the Virginia Center of Higher Education.

I have had the pleasure of taking in our Chorus on a few occasions and always took the time to ✍ about the evening. The problem was that nobody involved with the Chorus outside of the Harris family πŸ‘ͺ had any idea that the site existed.

Tonight that is no longer the case as we have created three separate stories about their efforts and listed everyone that participated.

Mrs Lineberry works as hard for and with her Students as anyone out there. I don’t need anyone out there to go back and read the old stuff but I now hope she understands that she is welcome to our platform 24/7.

After the performance ended I realized I was a couple of hours from home 🏑 and the drive back would have to include multiple breaks.

With some more assistance from Marion we created something that I feel every member of the group will appreciate.

Now, having done a Good 2 Days work I think I will call it a Night !

Encouraging the World 🌎 One person at a time requires a certain level of Commitment….

Tomorrow we wake ⏰ up (hopefully) and give it our Best Shot !

Made it Back to the Cows πŸ„ after a Day in Abingdon with Wrestlers and Singers !

This is the follow-upβ€‚πŸ“« on the District 7 Chorus event which took place over the past two days down in Abingdon. I encourage folks to check out the live version of the story from earlier today.

First item of business is to list each and every Cavalier that participated in this Top Shelf event.

So here are the names of the Students who attended all district chorus. Christina Alderman, Elizabeth Barr, Grace Bouldin, Katie Boyd, Celine Campbell-Zendejas, Saffire Carter, Nathaniell Dalton, Wyatt Dalton, Brooke Fichtel, Chloe Galyean, Callie Harris, Quint Leonard, Cali Lineberry, Bethany Melton, Ian Montgomery, Annaleise Moore, Ellie Parker, Maddie Spencer, and Lexi Slayton.

Always important to list everyone !

From Mrs Lineberry :

Oh gosh. I had 22 who originally made All District choir but due to circumstances 3 could not go. I took 19 students who are immensely talented and extremely hardworking and got to watch them be part of an incredible experience. They began rehearsing Friday at 10 in the morning until 8 that evening and then came back Saturday morning and rehearsed until their performance Saturday afternoon. It is physically and mentally demanding to sing and get ready for a performance of such a magnitude and these students were amazing. I cannot begin to describe how proud I am of each one of them. They represented themselves and Carroll County High School well. It is such an honor to work with these students day in and day out and to watch them grow as musicians and as people.

Thank You Ma’am for all that you do for our youth !

Next – The list of the performers that will now move on to Richmond as State Delegates :

Here are the All Virginia Delegates Cali Lineberryβ€”Alto 2Quint Leonardβ€”Bass 2Ian Montgomeryβ€”Bass 1Annaleise Mooreβ€”Alto 1 Alternate. They will go to Richmond in April to perform with students at from across the state.

Life is not all about throwing a pass, hitting an open jumper or winning a race. While each of those things are cool, our Community is also full of actors, singers and dancers. The past 48 hours this group represented our School and Community with a great deal of grace and class. In School on Monday if you share a class with any of them please πŸ™ let them know you are proud of them !

Marion Harris gets a great deal of credit for helping me gather all of the information and that’s why he has a corner office 🏒 in our imaginary World 🌎 Headquarters.

For those of you heading to Richmond later, Best Wishes. For the balance of the group, Well Done !

Next Stop βœ‹Voices of Angels πŸ˜‡

Just a few miles down the road from Abingdon High School 🏫 you will find the Virginia Higher Education Center. Here in a few minutes our CCHS Chorus will perform !

This is Day 2 of a Two Day event

We are currently in the 20 minute break in between sessions. The group that just finished had a large number of performers and they did a terrific job !

In roughly 15 minutes our talented group will take the stage ! Plenty more to follow !

It would appear that we have 9 rows of 10 singers, each dressed in a white top and dark slacks. Another50 or so have just entered the room.

  It’s 3pm now!!

District VII

The Mixed Choir is in the process of exiting the stage at 3:25. The group performed a set of heavenly songs 🎡. A young Man from Battle High School performed the Solo on a ” City called Heaven” and simply could not have done it any better!

The next group of 90 or so has now taken the stage.

This group is the Senior High Treble Choir.

The opening group was the Senior High Mixed Choir.

3:47 – performance complete. Now on to the folks that will be heading to Richmond as a Delegate.

By my unofficial count we have three that have qualified and one on that is on the alternate list.

I will do my best to verify this and add their names here.

Also, in the spirit of how we do things here, if someone can provide us the names of all that performed today and throughout the year I would Love πŸ’˜ to add their names here.

Delegates and Alternets !

Passed by Animals walking in pairs on the way down but survived the storm to arrive in Abingdon for Regional Wrestling tournament !

The Cavaliers are out in full force down here at Abingdon High School 🏫 !

11:42 – We have reached the Quarterfinals inside of a packed Gymnasium.

The morning πŸŒ„ message

Mr. Tickle is all set to tell their story and Coach Long will check βœ” in once its over !

Uncle Joe from Petticoat Junction and I have a great deal in common today. Moving kinda slow…..

Young Man just recorded his 100th victory, the Wrestling equivalent to 1,000 points or 1,000 kills.

The Wrestling is taking place across four mats.

12:23 pm

The Top Four finishers in each Weight Class advance to the State Tournament.

Cool 😎 set up down the hall!
