We’re committed to covering the Carroll County Girls πŸ‘§ JV Basketball πŸ€ team, even if it gets done from the Bahamas πŸ‡§πŸ‡Έ….#Dedicated

Kevin Burress took the time to send in quarterly reports without fail so let’s inform the folks about the latest victory for the Junior Cavs.

Head Coach Kayla Nester had to be extra creative tonight in the rematch versus Galax and her team was reduced to just six healthy players after both of the Young cousins were unable to play due to injuries.

Here is Kevin’s reports and then I will summarize the night.

“After 1 quarter Lady Cavs JV have 7 and Galax has 5. Injury notes Kenzie Young and Kayla Young are not dressed out for the game.”

2nd Quarter – 12/5

“Lady Cavs have 19 and Galax has 10 at the half.”

3rd Quarter :

” Faith, Laynie-Jo, Kenzey, Raylee, Natalie, Carlee are dressed and playing. Kayla having to get creative with giving breaks.”

” After 3 it’s the Lady Cavs 30 and Galax 23. Fouls and breaks are becoming increasingly difficult with only 6 players.”

“Final from the gym Lady Cavs 45 and Galax 28. Great 4th quarter from our girls.”

Kevin Burress, you are the Man πŸ‘¨!

Carroll County will take a short break before returning to the Hill on Monday night in hopes of sweeping Honaker. In between the games the Ring πŸ’ Ceremony from last season will take place (Apx-6:45).

Just a quick reminder that both of the Boys πŸ‘¦ Basketball games πŸ€ at Galax tonight were postponed due to Covid concerns at Galax.

Our Swimming πŸŠβ€β™‚οΈ teams competed tonight down in North Carolina and if those returns arrive in my inbox πŸ“₯ we will share them !

Trenton Miller takes us inside a Magical Night πŸŒ™ at the Virginia Produce Company last night!

” I don’t really appreciate Santa since the devil has used him as a huge distraction from the real meaning of Christmas. I’d rather be a servant of Christ than Santa’s helperπŸ˜‰”

Those were the words that young Mr. Trenton Miller used to describe his experience last night’s Carroll Christmas πŸŽ„ Fund !

Such a tremendous cause….

We are just getting started with this story !

Welcome πŸ™ to a Busy, Busy Friday as 5 of our 7 Winter teams will be in action 🎬 in three different Towns across two States!

Wrestling and Girls πŸ‘§ Varsity Basketball πŸ€ will be the lone teams sitting this one out today.

Starting out on the Hill and I smiled when I saw the 5:30am Tip time for the Girls πŸ‘§ JV Basketball πŸ€ contest with Galax. A pajama party game would be an interesting marketing strategy but I’m pretty sure that the teams will begin the rematch at 5:30 pm. Kayla Nester’s team made the cross county trek on their opening night πŸŒ™ and returned home with the victory!

Three of the contests are slated to get underway at 6pm as both the Boys πŸ‘¦ and Girls πŸ‘§ Swim πŸŠβ€β™‚οΈ teams head down to Yadkin, North Carolina for their second meet this week.

Our JV Boys Basketball (3-3) will look to build on its two game winning streak tonight when they head over to Galax. The team has looked very impressive πŸ‘ the last two times on the floor!

The early season success of our Varsity Boys πŸ‘¦ Basketball team is now longer a secret as the 5-0 Cavs are ranked #1 in Class 3 and Top Ten overall in the Commonwealth. They will look to make it 6-0 tonight at Galax.

We will be spread out pretty thin but its still the hope to produce coverage of all five events with a little help from our Friends!

Mrs. Goins and Kevin Burress both figure to be in the Gym at Home 🏑.

Coach DeHaven will produce the results from the Swimming πŸŠβ€β™‚οΈ and then Shannon Dalton will hopefully walk us through the event.

We will have Greg Talley, Kris Richardson, the Smoots and the JV Coaching staff out in Galax all sending information into the inbox πŸ“₯.

It’s a Great Day to be a Cavalier, wherever it takes you !!!
