Final Story ! Boys πŸ‘¦ Basketball πŸ€ Gamer that Coach Barnes will add a Full Box score to a ship 🚒 it off into the corners of the County !

Dublin – Carroll County Boys Basketball continued its red hot start of the season be defeating Pulaski County on the road Saturday afternoon. The Cavaliers (4-0) defeated the Cougars 76-56 with Ethan Richardson leading a balanced attack with a career high 24 points.

Carroll County swept the seaaon series with the most notable difference between the games beingthe early 9-3 deficit the second time around. Jabin Talley connected on a 3-pointer to pull the Cavaliers even at 16-16 and the team never looked back. CCHS closed out the first quarter by scoring the final seven points and by the time the run ended they had scored 18 unanswered points to take a 31-16 lead.

Defense becomes instant offense with Davis Reitzel (13 points) leading the break in his role of point forward. There was one possession in the second half where the Cavaliers went the length of the floor for a basket without the basketball being dribbled. Reitzel corralled a rebound and threw a length of the court pass that Bryce Smoot (10 points) corralled mid-air and somehow found a cutting Richardson with a pass before landing back on the court.

The team is clicking on both ends of the floor right now and disturbing the ball evenly without fail. The result is enough to make a Head Coach smile.

“Where do I start , the play that we are doing on the defensive end is unreal , we held their leading scorer at half to 0 pts.” said Coach Anthony Barnes. “Tonight again was Team ball to its core. They turned the pressure up 2 more clicks, its making our offense so we can get out in transition.”

The starting five finished with 63 points and each player scored at least seven points. Talley finished with nine and Isaiah Easter scored seven.. Cody Reece added seven points of the bench and once again eight players scored. The lead ballooned to the 30 point range late in the third quarter before Barnes went deeper into his rotation allowing the Cougars to go on a mini run late in the ballgame.

Any doubt about the outcome ended just before the halftime buzzer when the hot hand of the night buried his third 3-pointer of the second quarter to give the Cavaliers a 41-24 advantage. Just to make sure it was case closed the Cavs opened the second half with a 7-2 burst.

“Hats off on Ethan Richardson on a career night, I told them after the game, how do you stop a team that produces 4 different leading scorers in 4 games , thats how unselfish they are !” Barnes added. “I am So proud of them , the work they putting in, once again with the help of best staff around in Richardson, Redd , Stockner, and Largen which are all former alumni, Go. Cavs.”

There will be some mighty tall challenges ahead once the Three Rivers District portion of the schedule rolls around but for the time being the Cavaliers are much watch TV.

Carroll County sits at 4-0 and has yet to play a meaningful fourth quarter. The team will look to keep the train moving again on Wednesday night back on the Hill. Come on down, get a bag of popcorn and enjoy the show.
