Our Junior Varsity Girls π§ Basketball team is 2-0 this year playing teams not named Pulaski County but the Cougars present match up problems for our Lady Cavaliers. PCHS jumped out to an early 9-4 lead and held on for a 52-32 victory and a sweep of the season series.
Raylee Goins led the offense with 10 points, including going a perfect 4 of 4 from the free throw line. Kayla Young added eight points while Faith Clontz netted six.
Carroll County played well in spurts despite giving up what looked to be inches in both height and wing span at four of the five spots on the floor.
The second quarter in particular looked to be where the Cavs looked the most comfortable. All five starters scored 2 points each and the team stayed within 11-10 over the seven minutes to head into the break down 25-16.
After struggling in the third quarter the Cavs once again bounced back to play the fourth quarter at 8-8.
Mrs. Goins and I both shared many pictures π· of the game back on the Day Long πββοΈ Post.
CCHS…………6 10 8 8 – 32
PCHS…………14 11 19 8 -52
Carroll County (32) – Goins 10, Ka Young 8, Clontz 6, McMillan 4, Leonard 2 , Ke Young 2, Burress and Dalton…

Plenty of effort on both ends of the floor and not sure how many more times the Lady Cavaliers will face the same amount of size this season.
