Today is the Day that the Curtain comes down on the 2022-2023 High School šŸ« Sports Year !

In locations spread across the Commonwealth today the VHSL will be handing out Trophies for the Final Time. Boys šŸ‘¦ and Girls šŸ‘§ Soccer āš½ļø plus Baseball āš¾ļø and Softball contests wrap up.

Botetourt Softball Complex will host the Class 1 and Class 2 Finals beginning at 10am!

Today’s Field of Dreams ! Live from Botetourt Softball Complex

Eight Softball teams will head to the Botetourt Softball Complex in hopes of getting to be one of the four that make it back for Saturdays State Championship games in Class 1 & 2.

Class 3 will also be playing at 10 &1 outside of the Greater Richmond area.

Three games will get underway at 10am, one Semi-final from each Class and then after a short break the final 3 Semi-final games will start at 1pm. The Class 1 &2 games have been moved from the Moyer Complex in Salem this year as they are finishing up a complete overhaul of the long standing facility.

Games of interest to fans of the CCHS program include – Region 3D Champion Cave Spring and Runner-up Northside trying to meet for the Championship. Class 1 neighbors Auburn are trying to match Oklahoma with a 3-peat and Three Rivers District Champs šŸ† James River facing King William in Class 2.

Another team that appeared on the Carroll County schedule this year was Tazewell and they will be playing early versus Alan Knight’s Page County Panthers. Twenty years of history between us and the PCHS program and the Skipper who is finishing up his 42nd year.

Wednesday Night šŸŒ™ was a bit Historic for the Barnes – Richardson era of Boys šŸ‘¦ Basketball šŸ€ !

Little did I know that when Carroll County High School šŸ« hung on for an exciting 50-49 victory over Floyd County High School it was the first time that the Cavaliers had tripped up the Buffaloes since the current Coaching staff took over the program.

Friday Night šŸŒ™ June 9th is the OneofUs.Care Celebration at the ‘Ole Ball Park in Strasburg !

First Pitch is set for 7pm tomorrow night up in Strasburg as the Express baseball āš¾ļø team welcomes Culpepper to town for the first time in the expansion teams inaugural season.

Our ties to Jay Neal and the Express go all the way back to their joining the Valley Baseball League and we are looking forward to our Evening with the team !
