First story of the Night 🌙 Fun was had at the JV Softball Double Header with Martinsville

From the young man 👨 that assisted with the selling of the tickets 🎟 and the Omega Foul Ball contest to DJ Debbie, it was a fun time at Cavalier Park this afternoon.

Alexis Dalton led her team to a sweep of the Martinsville Bulldogs, 10-0 & 12-0 with Addie Greene pitching the opener and Kenzey McMillan toeing the rubber in the night cap . Both games were shortened to a 3-inning Mercy rule as was agreed upon before play started.

Martinsville does not have a Varsity Softball team and is attempting to do a program reboot with a brand new JV squad. Head Coach Taylor Johnson did an impressive job 👏 staying positive throughout the two hours with her incredibly inexperienced squad.

The JV team will play a final home game tomorrow night against the Buffaloes of Floyd County and will finish up with a one game District Championship next Friday at Alleghany High School 🏫.

Just moments away from the first pitch in the Sun Belt Conference Softball Tournament down in Lafayette, Louisiana. Following the final chapter of the Collegiate Career of Sydney Nester

It’s 80° degrees with a slight breeze down on the Bayou today as Coastal Carolina and Southern Miss are about to play in the opening Game (#7 vs #10) with the winner advancing to Day 2 where they will face Sydney Nester and Marshall

The other Game today will be between #8 – University of Louisiana – Monroe and #9 – Georgia State.

Four games will be played tomorrow beginning at 10:00am CT. The two teams that didn’t qualify for the event were Georgia Southern and Appalachian State University.

The Conference is some what top heavy with the trio at the top being Louisiana, South Alabama and Marshall. Marshall (43-9) finished third in the overall standings but received the #2 seed by being the top team in the East portion of the standings.

We will be here with the team until the playing days of one of Carroll County High School’s brightest Alumni tosses her final College pitch!
