Best of Luck to our Cavaliers on Friday !

The two play in games are set for Wednesday with what I believe to be –
#10 Tunstall 7-5-5 @ #7 Staunton River 11-7-1
#9 Cave Springs 6-8-2 @ #8 Christiansburg 8-5-3
The games are for certain and I feel comfortable in the rankings.
_______________________________
Magna Vista 18-1 and Lord Botetourt 12-3-3 have to be the two teams at the top and will host the Wednesday night winners.
________________________________
Bassett 4-13 & Northside 2-15 are the two teams not advancing to the 10 team field.
________________________________
That leaves us with the 3-6 & 4-5 matches that are slated for Friday:
Carroll County 10-3-1 @ William Byrd 6pm
Hidden Valley 9-5-3 @ Abingdon 15-3 4pm
Matches are set for sure, best guess on seeds is 6@3 for the Lady π© Cavaliers and 5@4 down in Abingdon.
Fortunately for us Marion Harris will walk πΆββοΈ us through the action start to finish !

Wednesday night π at 6pm
Tunstall 10-11 @ Lord Botetourt 10-12
This has to be #9 @ #8
_______________________
Magna Vista 7-15 & William Byrd 7-16 have no next game scheduled so they have to be #11 & #12
________________________
Carroll County 16-3 and Cave Springs 17-4 have no games showing now = these are the Top 2 Seeds awaiting the winners of the 8-9 and 7-10 games and will play their first games on Friday at Home π‘
__________________________
Two games are slated for 6pm on Thursday night:
#6 Bassett 11-10 @ #3 Staunton River 17-4
#10 Hidden Valley 7-13 @ #7 Christiansburg 11-8
__________________________________
Friday will have 3 games with the only one already set being –
#5 – Abingdon 8-8 @ #4 Northside 15-9
Plus Carroll County and Cave Springs hosting the play-in Winners π
I feel pretty comfortable with my assumptions about the field but not sure how 8-8 Abingdon jumps 11-10 Bassett and 11-8 Christiansburg but there’s no way Northside isn’t number four, right ?
We will be at Home π‘ on Friday for the winner of Tunstall and Lord Botetourt. Or I could be wrong about the whole thing………….

Louisiana claimed the Sun Belt Championship 7 days ago by the slimmest of margins, besting our Carroll County High alum and her team 1-0. Marshall came into the 3 day event being told if you want an invite to the Dance π you better run the table.
Marshall took care of business in the first two but fell in the title game to finish up at 45-10. The Sun Belt was limited to just 2 bids while it seemed like the entire Southeastern Conference was invited.
Louisiana was hoping by winning the league tournament they would be one of the 16 Schools to host a Regional but they too were dismissed a bit as they were sent to play at #10 seeded Louisiana State which meant they fell to the #23 spot in the field.
The gap between hoping you make the Top 16 and coming in at 23 is a pretty large descepency. The only upside of the placement was the short trek to Baton Rouge.
On Sunday afternoon the Cajuns struck a blow for the Sun Belt and all of its teams by taking a pair of thrilling games from the Tigers π . Louisiana will now travel out to Seattle to face the #7 seeded University of Washington Huskies.
It also means that both the Sun Belt and Mountain West (San Diego State) will send the same number of teams as the Big Ten.
The shocking upsets that #2 UCLA suffered in its first two games at home π‘ didn’t prevent the Pac 12 from being the only league to claim four of the 16 spots in the Super Regionals this coming weekend.
The ACC, SEC and the Big 12 each will have three teams hoping to make the trip out to Oklahoma City next month.
